"Mom and Dad" Come Through for Landazzi

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

After preflop action was folded around to him, the middle-position player raised it to 7,000, and got calls from both Joe Landazzi in the cutoff and the player in the big blind, which created a three-way pot.

The flop came {4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, which got a check from the big blind, a continuation bet of 11,000 from the middle-position, a call from Landazzi and then a fold from the big blind.

The middle-position player checked the {3-Diamonds} turn, and then check-called the 25,000 bet from Landazzi.

Both players then checked the {2-Spades} river, and the middle-position player mucked his hand when Landazzi tabled {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

Mangold Busts Casino

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

We missed the elimination of Craig Casino but Jason Mangold, the man who eliminated him, told us a few details after the fact.

According to him, Casino held {k-}{10-} on a king high flop and got his chips in the middle. Mangold, who had {a-}{q-}, called him and promptly spiked an ace on the turn.

Mangold claimed the pot and sent Casino out of flight 1a.

Johnson Hits Slick On the River

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

2018 HPT Player of the Year Aaron Johnson got all his chips in pre flop with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} against the small blind player's {j-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

Johnson's hand was ahead until a flop of {5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. The {q-Clubs} on the turn gave Johnson a little more hope adding more outs to win the hand on the river.

A {k-Spades} on the river saved Johnson giving him the winning hand.

Casino Chops One and Loses Another

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Craig Casino
Craig Casino

In the first hand Craig Casino limped from under the gun and it folded around to the big blind, who checked his option.

After the players checked to the river on a board reading {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the big blind checked again, Casino put out a bet of 5,000, which was called by the big blind.

The players tabled their hands, which resulted in a chopped pot.

Casino: {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Big Blind: {q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

In the very next hand action folded to the hijack, and he raised to 5,500, getting calls from Ed McPike on the button and Casino from his big blind.

All three players checked to the river on a board reading {10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Spades}.

Casino then bet out 11,000, which got a fold from the hijack.

McPike then asked to see Casino's stack and opted to just call.

Casino then mucked his cards after McPike tabled {j-Clubs}{k-Spades} for the king-high flush.

Last Break of the Night

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Players are on their final 15-minute break of the night. During this time the tournament staff will race off the T100 chips. When they return, the remaining players will play three more 40-minute levels before bagging and tagging on Day 1a.

Fondy Gets a Double Up Just Before the Break

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Jim Fondy raised to 8,000 from middle position, and action folded around to the player in the small blind, who had just won two straight hands with preflop shoves and no callers.

After shoving for a third straight hand, he finally got called, by Fondy who had a shorter stack.

The players then tabled their hands, and Fondy was ahead and needed his hand to hold.

Fondy: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, which gave the small blind outs to the nut flush and straight.

The small blind asked for a heart or ten, which didn't come on the {8-Clubs} turn or the {7-Diamonds} river.

This gave Fondy, who had been one of the earlier big stacks, some much-needed chips.

McAfoose Holds On

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ed McAfoose opened action with a 5,500 button bet and got a quick call by the small blind. The big blind player fired out a three-bet of 15,000. McAfoose paused, then shoved all-in for 39,800. Big blind player called McAfoose's all in after the small blind folded.

McAfoose was ahead holding {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} against the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

A scary board of {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} gave McAfoose a sweat but the winning hand.
