Mullins Hits a Lucky River

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Josh Mullins
Josh Mullins

After preflop action folded to the player on the button, he raised it to 8,000.

The small-blind player folded, and Josh Mullins thought for a moment before re-raising to 27,000.

The button-player then responded with an all-in shove and Mullins made the call, but wasn't happy when the hands were tabled, even though he had the player covered.

Mullins: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Button Player: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The flop of {j-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} was a good one for the all-in player, as was the {6-Spades} turn.

Unfortunately things changed when the dealer put the {10-Spades} on the river, which gave Mullins Broadway and sent the button-player to the rail.

Tepen Doubles Through Fielder; Phillips Falls

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ryan Tepen
Ryan Tepen

Ryan Tepen got his stack of 31,500 all in preflop and was at risk against Jeff Fielder.

Tepen: {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Fielder: {k-}{10-}

It was a flip and Tepen was just looking to hold. That's exactly what he did as the board ran out a safe {3-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Meanwhile, former November Niner Dennis Phillips was eliminated at the hands of Shawn "Reginald" Roberts. The former made a diamond flush but it was no good as the latter had kings full.

Davidson Loses Monster Pot to Palmer

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

After Nick Davidson three-bet to 20,000 on the button, action folded to Jared Palmer in the cutoff who called.

Davidson moved all in on the {6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and was quickly callednby Palmer. Davidson's {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} was far behind Palmer's flopped set {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

The {j-Spades} was no help to Davidson and left him drawing dead.

After the {8-Hearts} on the river, Davidson sent over half his stack to Palmer.

Bridwell Bids a Player Farewell

Level 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Grant Bridwell raised to 7,000 from middle position and was called by the player in the small blind.

The big-blind player then shoved all in for a total of 51,000, which sent Bridwell deep into the tank.

He eventually made the call, and after the player in the small blind folded his hand, the two players tabled their hands.

Bridwell: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Bridwell was ahead preflop, but it was a race, and one that got even scarier after the flop came {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Bridwell managed to fade every one of the outs on the {k-Clubs} turn and {6-Hearts} river, which resulted in stacking a substantial pot and sending a player to rail late in the day.

Shawn Roberts
Shawn Roberts

A short-stacked player was all in preflop for 17,000 and at risk against Shawn "Reginald" Roberts, who last month finished runner-up to Nick Pupillo in the HPT Golden Gates.

Roberts: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Roberts had the superior ace and it held as the board ran out {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.
