Ace from Space for Holland

Level 13 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Three players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} with around 25,000 in the middle already. Doug Holland led out for 10,000 and Daniel Hummer flat-called, only to have Cheyenne Auterson shove all in for 52,000. Holland called and Auterson laid his hand down.

Doug Holland: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Cheyenne Auterson: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Auterson flopped a set of queens and was looking to double up late on Day 1a. The {j-Spades} hit the turn to give Holland a few more outs, and the {a-Hearts} on the river improved Holland to a better set.

Friedman Makes a Move with the Nut Blocker

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Three players were in the hand on a flop reading {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Daniel Sepiol and Joey Hiudt checked from the blinds and Adam Friedman tossed in a bet of 8,500 from the hijack. Both Sepiol and Hiudt called to see the {3-Hearts} on the turn.

Sepiol checked again and Hiudt counted out a bet of 18,500. Friedman called and Sepiol got out of the way. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Hiudt pushed in another bet of 25,500. Friedman looked back at his cards before moving all in for 83,700. Hiudt asked for a count before making the call.

Friedman tossed his cards into the muck before the dealer revealed his {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a missed straight and flush draw. Hiudt tabled {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flush as he pulled in a monster pot.

Riddick Ousts Tamanini in a Flip

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Sam Riddick opened to 6,000 from middle position and Ryan Tamanini three-bet shoved all in for 45,400 on his left. The action folded back around to Riddick who thought for a minute before making the call.

Sam Riddick: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Ryan Tamanini: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The flop of {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} left Riddick in the lead with his pair of fours. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn provided a bit more of a sweat, giving Tamanini some counterfeit outs, but the {5-Hearts} on the river was of no help as he headed to the rail.

Hiudt Holds the Superior Pair

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Joey Hiudt
Joey Hiudt

Joey Hiudt raised to 5,100 from early position and the short stack on the table moved all in for around 19,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Hiudt who quickly made the call to put his opponent at risk.

Joey Hiudt: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Hiudt eliminated his opponent to move over the 100,000 chip mark.

Boles Has Fun with Bazeley

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The action folded to Kevin Boles on the button who made it 3,500 to go. Jake Bazeley defended from the big blind and the two players saw a flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Bazeley check-called a bet of 4,000 from Boles and the {k-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn.

Bazeley checked again and Boles instantly checked it back. The {10-Clubs} landed on the river and Bazeley checked one more time. Boles tossed in a bet of 7,000 which sent Bazeley into a tailspin.

"That was the weirdest check-back in the world," Bazeley said as he shook his head. "I've got three pair and you're going to show me jack-ten and win the pot." Bazeley eventually released his cards to the muck and Boles showed him {10-Spades}{9-Spades}, indicating that they would've chopped the pot.
