Richards Sends Froehlich to the Rail

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Peter Froehlich
Peter Froehlich

Peter Froehlich raised it up from middle position and was called by Mikhaile Richards in the small blind and Terry Moore in the big blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {3-Clubs} on the turn.

Richards checked again and Moore tossed in a bet of 1,600. Froehlich flatted and Richards check-raised to 4,500. Moore got out of the way before Froehlich shoved all in for 14,500. Richards asked for a count and then made the call.

Richards tabled {a-Spades}{9-Spades} which was currently in front of Froehlich's combo draw with {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The {8-Hearts} on the river bricked off for Froehlich as he quickly aborted his seat in the tournament.

Pupillo Snags One on the River

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with three players still in the hand, the board read {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Diamonds}. Timothy Russell bet 7,000 from the big blind into a pot of around 18,000. Russell got a fold from middle position but Nick Pupillo called from the hijack.

The {6-Clubs} on the river paired the board and Russell opted to check this time. Pupillo splashed in a bet of 30,000, enough to cover Russell's remaining stack of around 23,000. Russell thought for a minute but then elected to lay his hand down, sending the pot to Pupillo.

Double Knockout for Szczur

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante
Joshua Szczur
Joshua Szczur

After a series of preflop raises, Joshua Szczur got all of his chips in the middle against two of the shorter stacks on his table. Robert Reed was all in for 5,900 while Bob Koch was all in for 13,100 with Szczur having both players covered.

Joshua Szczur: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Bob Koch: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Robert Reed: {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} which failed to connect with either of Szczur's opponents. He scooped both the main and side pot to eliminate Koch and Reed before the first break of the day.

Tamanini Runs Into Zou's Boat

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Ryan Tamanini raised to 800 from middle position and Henry Zou was the only caller from the button. The flop fell {7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} and Tamanini continued for 1,100. Zou called and the {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Tamanini fired out another bet of 2,500 but Zou wasn't going anywhere as he still called. The river was the {5-Clubs} and Tamanini went for a third bullet of 2,900. Zou raised to 8,000 this time, sending Tamanini into the tank for at least two minutes before he finally called. Zou tabled {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a full house and Tamanini mucked his cards.

Ruckel Turns Two Pair

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

In a five-way limped pot, the dealer fanned a flop of {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and the action checked to Greg Ruckel in the cutoff who bet 800. The blinds folded and Greg Raymer check-raised to 2,100 from middle position. Ruckel called and the {8-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Raymer announced a bet of 3,800 and Ruckel just called as the {k-Spades} completed the board. Raymer quickly checked and Ruckel thought for a minute before checking as well.

"One pair," Raymer announced. But it wasn't enough to overcome the two pair of Ruckel when he tabled {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.
