Broadway for Spears

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Andy Spears
Andy Spears

Action folded to Andy Spears on the cutoff, who raised to 125,000 with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and was called by Anthony McIe, who defended his big blind with {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}. The flop came {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and McIe checked. Spears bet 100,000 and McIe made the call, bringing the {k-Hearts}. McIe checked again, and Spears pushed a bet of 260,000 into the pot. McIe thought for a little while, ultimately making the call and taking the two to the {5-Diamonds} river. McIe checked a third time, and Spears made a bet of 650,000. McIe was folded, and Spears took down the pot with the nuts, but no showdown.

Gaunt tanked and folded and seemed less than pleased when Lee mucked behind him.

Spears' Ace High Good

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Action was folded to Andy Spears, who opened the button to 125,000 with {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Dan Wagner defended his big blind with {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} and the two saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades}. The players checked through the flop, bringing the {4-Clubs} turn. Wagner led out for 150,000, and Spears made the call. The river was the {j-Spades} and both players checked. Spears' ace high was good to take down the pot.

Waltonbaugh Doubles Through Spears

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Lydia Waltonbaugh shoved on the button for 660,000 with {q-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Andy Spears put in calling chips with {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} in the small blind. Jason Pickup mucked fours.

Waltonbaugh nailed the flop as {7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts} hit, giving her two pair. The {5-Hearts} missed Spears, as did the {10-Hearts}. Waltonbaugh celebrated with her rail and then stacked her newfound chips.

McIe Ramping Up Aggression

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Anthony McIe opened from early position with {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} to 75,000 and action folded to Jason Pickup, who defended his big blind with {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. The two saw a flop of {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Pickup check-called McIe's continuation-bet for 155,000. The turn came {10-Hearts} and Pickup again checked. McIe fired a second barrel for 300,000 and Pickup thought for a little while before making the fold.

Gaunt Doubles Through Lee Again

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Marcus Gaunt
Marcus Gaunt

Marcus Gaunt moved all in for 335,000 with {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Christopher Lee picked up {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} on his left. He put him at risk and Gaunt was disappointed to see he was dominated.

The board came {2-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs} with Gaunt needing a three on the river.

"Any red three will do," someone in the crowd said.

Sure enough, the {3-Diamonds} hit and Gaunt picked up the double.
