Meyers Doubles, Waltonbaugh Eliminated

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Action was joined on a flop of {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{6-Hearts} with Chris Meyers putting in a check-raise of 6,600 after Lydia Waltonbaugh had bet 1,800. Waltonbaugh took a few seconds before calling. The turn came {3-Clubs} and Meyers bet out 8,000. Waltonbaugh tanked for a short period of time, and then called. The river brought the {k-Hearts} and Meyers went all in for his last 12,700. Waltonbaugh thought again for some time before putting a stack of chips forward to make the call.

Both hands were tabled, with Meyers taking down the pot with top two pair {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to defeat Waltonbaugh's {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

After the hand, Waltonbaugh was down to about 2500 and found herself all in the next hand with {10-}{8-} versus another player's {k-}{q-}. The board ran out with five blanks, and Waltonbaugh has been eliminated.

Zahn Finds Call on River

Level 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Bob Nolen limped from under the gun and Joey Zahn raised from his immediate left to 2,500. Action folded around to Nolen, who called and the players were on their way to a {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop. After both players checked, the {5-Diamonds} arrived on the turn. Nolen checked again, Zahn bet 3,100, and Nolen called. The river came {a-Spades} and Nolen bet 5,000. After about two minutes in the tank, Zahn reluctantly called. Nolen showed {4-}{4-} and Zahn tabled {k-}{q-}, taking down the pot with his pair of queens.

Yocca Knocks Two Out

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
John Yocca
John Yocca

John Yocca just raked in a massive amount of chips after getting his {a-}{a-} all in preflop versus two opponents. One player had about 12,000 and was in with {q-}{j-}. The second player had just sat down and was dealt {10-}{10-}, which would be both his first and last hand for his tournament entry. Yocca is now over 100,000.

Yocca Still Climbing

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

John Yocca continues to spin upward from his last crumbs. Most recently, he shoved all in for 14,200 after making a backdoor flush against Griffin Abel, who tank-called on the river with a wheel and shipped over a double.

Callahan Cracks Cowboys

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

A player under the gun shove all in for around 12,000 and Keith Callahan announced a call without budging. Everyone else folded and he tabled {a-}{j-} but saw he was dominated by {k-}{k-}. Unfortunately for the player with kings, the flop contained a jack and the turn brought an ace to give Callahan winning aces up.

Breuning Gets Help on River

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Action was joined with Angelo Breuning having an 11,500 bet in front of him from the cutoff versus an opponent on the button with the board reading {3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}. The river brought a {9-Hearts} and both players checked.

Breuning turned over {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, having rivered two pair. His opponent showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, signifying his hand was best until the river.

Yocca Spinning It Back Up

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

After being down to 700 in chips, John Yocca has now found his way back to around 20,000. He just played a hand in which he went all in over a raise to 1,500 from Alex Visbisky. Visbisky called and showed {10-}{10-}, while Yocca turned over {k-}{k-}. The board had a clean runout, and Yocca finds himself making his way back into contention.

Ali Bricks

Ricky Ali
Ricky Ali

A player opened for 1,300 in middle position and it went four ways to {7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, which checked around to the {3-Spades}. Ricky Ali bet out 2,000 from the small blind and Jason Pickup stuck his 8,900 in from the big blind. Ali called, though he was less than thrilled.

Ricky Ali: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Jason Pickup: {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}

All of Ali's outs were live but it was Pickup improving on the {4-Diamonds} river.
