Snuffer Rivers Straight

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was joined with 23,500 in the pot on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The big blind checked and Iverson Cotton Snuffer bet 11,000. A player in middle position folded, and the big blind called to take the hand heads up to the {q-Hearts} turn. Both players checked, and the river was the {j-Clubs}. The big blind bet 32,000 and was snap called by Snuffer.

Upon the snap call, Snuffer turned over {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the straight and his opponent mucked his cards.

Worden Tank-Folds

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Lydia Waltonbaugh raised to 4,500 in the cutoff and David Worden reraised to 11,500 on her left. Waltonbaugh peeled and {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flopped. Waltonbaugh checked, Worden bet 7,500, and the chips had barely left his hand before he heard "all in."

Worden tanked about two minutes and then released.

Lee Leads, Binks

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

A player in the big blind had put in a three-bet to 18,400 and been called by the player on the button when Christopher Lee tossed in enough chips to see the flop from the small blind. Lee bet out 20,000 on the {10-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and the big blind folded. It went heads up to the {8-Spades} turn when the other player stuck around and both checked to the {5-Spades}.

Lee bet 25,000, his opponent thought about 30 seconds and called, and Lee tabled {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} to his opponent's shock and disgust.

"Should have shoved preflop," he lamented. "Leads f****** eights. What did you think I called with? Nothing?"

The big blind said a preflop shove wouldn't have gotten through as he held queens.

Chips Flying on Table 20

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

There have been a few large pots recently on Table 20. We walked over after showdown with the losing player's cards already mucked while the dealer was counting out Marty Gorenc's stack for the double up he had just secured. Gorenc's {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} was still tabled and the board read {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, signifying he had won with two pair.

On the very next hand, there was a four-way limped pot that saw a flop of {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}. Action checked to a player in middle position who went all in for around 40,000. Michael Pempin was on the button and reraised all in, getting everybody else to fold.

Middle position: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Michael Pempin: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{7-Spades} and Pempin breathed a sigh of relief as his missed ace high flush draw was good to take down the pot.

Cipresse Holds Against Combo Draw

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jarrod Cipresse had 25,000 in front of him on {4-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} in the cutoff and the player in the big blind announced all in. Cipresse instantly stuck his stack in and they showed down.

Big blind: {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Jarrod Cipresse: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Cipresse was good for the moment and it stayed that way through the {6-Spades} turn and {9-Spades} river. He had 93,600, which his opponent covered by just 1,000.

"And then, in Level 14, everyone lost their minds," James Pisano said.
