Reno Chipping Up

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Michael Reno won a few decent-sized pots in a short time span. We joined action for one hand with three-way action on a flop of {8-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}, with action on Penny Banhidy. She checked, and Reno bet 1,800. The third player in the hand folded, and Banhidy made the call. The turn came {k-Hearts} and Banhidy led out for 3,000. Reno called, bringing the {8-Hearts} river. Banhidy again led out for 5,000, and Reno put in a raise to 16,000. Banhidy folded, and Reno was shipped the pot.

Bowersock Building a Stack

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player opened to 1,000 from middle position and Mark Bowersock called from the cutoff. The players on the button and in both blinds called, and the five players in the hand went to the {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop. Action checked to Bowersock, who bet 3,000. The small blind was the only caller, and the two were now heads up. The turn came the {j-Hearts}, and both players checked. The {j-Clubs} river was then dealt, and the small blind bet 6,500. Bowersock did not take long to make the call.

His opponent showed {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for the missed draw, and Bowersock turned over {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} and took down the pot with two pair.

Byrnes Gets Knockout

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

There was about 8,000 in a three-handed pot on a flop reading {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. The player in the small blind bet 6,000 and was called only by Bill Byrnes. The turn came {k-Clubs} and the player shoved all in for around 18,000. Byrnes snap called and turned over {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, good for a full house. His opponent mucked his hand, though it was revealed to be {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. The river was a meaningless {9-Spades} and Byrnes collected the pot.

Nuts for Durante

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

Action folded to the hijack preflop, who opened the action with a raise to 1,500. Dennis Durante called from the button, as did the big blind. The three players saw the {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, and the big blind checked. The hijack fired a continuation-bet of 3,000 and Durante made the call. The big blind folded, taking action heads up to the {q-Spades} turn. The hijack checked, and Durante bet 7,000. His bet was called and the {4-Clubs} was dealt on the river. Again, the hijack checked. Durante fired a bet of 8,000, and after a long deliberation, the hijack called.

Durante showed {a-Spades}{9-Spades} for the nut flush, and his opponent flashed {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a cracked set before sending his cards to the muck.

Nick Pupillo

After a hijack open for 1,300 and a cutoff call, Nick Pupillo jammed in the big blind for 11,900. The opener mucked but the cutoff called pretty quickly and tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Pupillo had a dominating {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} though and he held up on the {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} board.

Snuffer Hits Straight on River

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

With around 8,500 in the pot on a board reading {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}, Iverson Cotton Snuffer had three T1,000 chips on the table for a bet out of the big blind. His opponent on the button deliberated for about a minute and a half before eventually verbally announcing a call.

Snuffer immediately tabled the {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for a straight and his opponent checked his cards again before mucking.

A recent entrant into the tournament, Snuffer finds himself with a stack and a half going into the second break of the day.

Esquivel Gets There Before Break

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

A player in middle position bet 3,200 on an {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and the next two players called. The turn was the {2-Hearts} and the middle player tossed in his 20,000. Mikey Esquivel instantly shoved over the top for right around double that and the third player, in the cutoff, shot out of his seat. He thought for about a minute and then called.

Middle position: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Mikey Esquivel: {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The river: {k-Hearts}, giving Esquivel a flush and the whole pot.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.
