Ditrapani Busts One

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Nicola Ditrapani
Nicola Ditrapani

Nicola Ditrapani raised to 800 from early position, and was called in four spots before the {3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop fell.

Action checked to a player on the button, who bet 2,000. Only Ditrapani called.

Ditrapani checked again on the {4-Hearts} turn, and the button flicked in a 5k chip. Ditrapani called again.

The {a-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and Ditrapani checked for a third time. The button jammed for 10,600, and Ditrapani went into the tank.

"Well, you either got a flush or nothin'," Ditrapani said. He thought for a few more moments, then called.

"I got an ace?" the button said inquizitively, tabling {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Ditrapani rolled over {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for a wheel, and he eliminated his opponent.

McQuiston Bombs the River

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Jeffrey Minnerly raised to 700 on the button after a player limped in before him, and Christopher McQuiston three-bet to 2,100 from the small blind. Minnerly called.

McQuiston bet 2,500 on the {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, and Minnerly called.

Both players checked the {10-Hearts} turn, and the {k-Hearts} fell on the river. McQuiston bet 8,000, a nearly pot-sized bet, and Minnerly thought for a few moments before folding.

Lu Rips it In

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Action checked to Zeping Lu in middle position on a {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} flop, and he bet 3,000 into a pot of 3,500. The big blind check-raised to 7,000, and after Andy Rogowski folded, Lu called.

The big blind bet 7,000 on the {6-Diamonds} turn, and Lu tanked for a minute before jamming his last 20,300 in the pot. The big blind went into the tank, and Lu sat motionless, hand over his mouth, as the big blind contemplated his decision.

After a little over a minute, the big blind folded. "Show the bluff, come on!" Rogowski said, but Lu simply smirked and mucked his hand face-down.

Schmiess Gets a Little Love

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

"I need some North Dakota love!" Fargo, North Dakota native Barry Schmiess said upon walking into the tournament area just now, looking for a deeper run than his attempt in yesterday's Day 1b flight.

In a recent hand, Shawn Roberts checked a {j-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop from middle position, and Schmiess checked next to act. The button fired 2,000 into a pot of around 4,000, and only Schmiess called.

The {4-Clubs} turn and {3-Spades} river were checked down, and Schmiess tabled {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}. His opponent folded.

Daciolas Takes One Down

Level 3 : 100/300, 0 ante

Four players invested 2,300 a piece to see a {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop together. Action checked to the button, who bet 3,100. The big blind folded, as did Leo Mitchell in middle position, while Kenneth Daciolas made the call from the hijack.

The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and Daciolas led out for 5,200.

"Nice runout, dealer!" the button said with a rueful smile, flinging his {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} towards the muck. Daciolas smiled, mucking his hand face-down and dragging in the pot.

Craig Casino
Craig Casino

In a five-way pot, action checked to a player in middle position on a {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, and he bet 700. Diane Dines called from the hijack, and Craig Casino raised to 3,100 on the button. Only Dines called.

Dines check-called a bet of 3,500 on the {q-Spades} turn, and the {a-Spades} fell on the river. Dines led out for 6,000.

"I was wondering how the hell you had a deuce in your hand," Casino said, looking over the board. "Either you have ace-deuce suited or a missed flush draw. You don't strike me as the latter."

Casino folded a moment later, and Dines turned over the {2-Spades}.

"Aren't you going to show me the ace?" Casino said with a grin, but Dines mucked the other card face-down.
