For the past week, the Heartland Poker Tour has been hosting a slew of side events here at the Hollywood Casino St. Louis.
Fans of the great game of Omaha got a treat in the form of Event #8: $300 PLO/Big O, played in a round by round format that saw players switch between four-card Omaha and Big O, which is five-card Omaha Hi-Lo, for those that have never heard of the game. 74 players generated a $18,870 prize pool, and the final nine players all took home a portion of the prize pool.
Charlie Dawson, who had already taken down Event #4: 7-Game Mix as well as Event #6: $400 Tag Team got his hands on a third Championship Belt after taking the lion's share of a five-way deal at the final table, capping off an impressive run in the preliminary events for the HPT Season XV Championship Series.
