Morse Gets a Lucky Double Through Lee

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Thomas Morse
Thomas Morse

Jerod Smith raised to 3,600 from under the gun, and Nikolas Martinez called in middle position, as did Tom Morse in the hijack. Hyun Lee three-bet to 12,000 from the cutoff, and Smith folded. Martinez called, and Morse four-bet shoved for 71,800. Lee five-bet jammed for 98,900 and Martinez said, "Wasted twelve-thousand," then folded.

Tom Morse: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Hyun Lee: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Morse caught up on the {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Spades} flop and never faltered on the {9-Clubs} turn and {5-Clubs} river to double up.

Zou Fires Every Street

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Henry Zou opened to 3,500 from middle position, and action folded around to Jeffrey Roberson, who called in the small blind, as did Mark Burgess in the big.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}, and Zou continued for 4,500 when checked to. Only Burgess called.

On the {j-Hearts} turn, Burgess check-folded to Zou's 6,000, and Zou stacked more ammo for Day 2.

Denis Done and Dusted

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Robert Watson raised to 3,200 from under the gun, and Andreas Ioakmides called in the cutoff. Wyatt Denis three-bet shoved for 19,400 on the button, and Watson called. Ioakmides then four-bet shoved for 87,900, and Watson folded.

Wyatt Denis: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Andreas Ioakmides: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Denis got no help on the {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades} flop, but the {7-Spades} turn gave him a flush draw. The {6-Diamonds} river was a brick, and Denis busted.

Thoughtful Raise on River

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The board read {7-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} in a heads-up pot of about 28,000 when Stephen Song bet 14,000 from the big blind. Derek Schroeder remained motionless for a minute or two before grabbing chips and raising to 32,000.

Song instantly mucked, and Schroeder took down the pot, continuing to build his Day 2 momentum.

Josh Reichard raised to 3,800 from under the gun, and Scotter Clark called in the big blind.

Dub for Burgess with Lucky Ladies

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Mark Burgess opened to 3,500 from middle position, and action folded around to Johanssy Joseph in the small blind, who three-bet large to 19,500.

When the flop fell {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Joseph continued for more than the pot—45,000. Raised all in for 79,500 total.

"I didn't see you had a 25k," said Joseph with a smile, referring to Burgess' single tan 25,000 chip, new to play today. Joseph took his time counting his stack, apologizing to the table for the wait.

"It's obvious what I have," he said, continuing to think it over for several minutes. "I'm hoping you have like, 2-3," he joked as he pushed in the call.

Mark Burgess: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Johanssy Joseph: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Joseph couldn't pair up on the {2-Hearts} turn or {5-Hearts} river, affording Burgess the double.

McBrayer Makes a Huge Call to Double Through Reichard

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Josh Reichard
Josh Reichard

With around 80,000 already in the pot, BJ McBrayer checked a {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board to Josh Reichard, who jammed to put McBrayer at risk for his last 152,700.

McBrayer went into the tank for three minutes before placing a column of chips in the pot to call, and after Reichard tabled {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, McBrayer turned over {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens, good for a big double. Reichard was left with 32,000 in chips and busted one hand later.
