Mavritsakis Hits Set to Keep Back-To-Back Dream Alive
Level 20
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Joel Baxter raised to 25,000 from the cutoff before Panagiotis Mavritsakis jammed all in for 209,000 in the big blind. Baxter asked for a count and made the call shortly thereafter with the bigger stack.
Panagiotis Mavritsakis: 4♦4♣
Joel Baxter: 8♣8♦
It was looking like the end for Mavritsakis' tournament run after finishing in third place last year, but the 2♠K♠4♠ saw him hit a four to take a massive lead. The 5♠ turn brought some chop outs, but the 7♦ river remained clean for the Greek to book a double-up and remain in contention.
