Maksim Petrov had opened from early position, and Steven Miller had flat-called in the adjacent seat when Patrick Eagers made it 150,000 to go on the button.
Petrov tossed in a call before Miller moved in for 620,000. Eagers asked for a count before eventually mucking his cards, after which a quick call followed from Petrov.
Steven Miller: 9♥9♣
Maksim Petrov: J♥J♣
Both players made a flush on the 7♣A♣4♣6♦K♣ runout, but Petrov's jacks gave him the higher one to eliminate Miller in the penultimate level of Day 2.
Tobias Peters in middle position and Erik Sturkenboom in the cutoff had created a pot of 330,000 when they went to a flop of 2♦A♣3♦. Peters checked to Sturkenboom, who made a small bet of 95,000.
Peters called to the 4♣ turn, which both players checked. The 4♥ river completed the board, prompting Peters to put in a big bet of 440,000.
Sturkenboom quickly threw in a calling chip, but mucked his cards when he saw Peters turn over 3♥3♣ for a full house.
Stephen Freeman raised to 50,000 in middle position and was called by Vikrum Mehta in the hijack. Big blind Kelley Slay then put in his stack of 370,000, folding out Freeman.
Mehta, however, made the call with the covering stack, putting Slay at risk.
Kelley Slay: J♠J♦
Vikrum Mehta: 6♣5♣
Mehta flopped a pair on the 5♥Q♠3♠ flop, and turned a gutshot with the 7♠. The 8♠ river provided no further help, however, seeing Slay double up to 33 big blinds.
Erik Sturkenboom in the big blind and Yurii Zabrodotskyi in middle position were looking at a completed board of A♥2♥10♥J♠3♦.
Sturkenboom assembled 500,000 chips and pushed them into the pot of 750,000, sending Zabrodotskyi into the tank. After a minute or so, Zabrodotskyi tossed in a calling chip.
Sturkenboom shook his head as he tabled 10♦7♥ for a pair of tens. Zabrodotskyi showed K♦Q♥ for a straight, shipping the large pot and leaving Sturkenboom with 14 big blinds.
Maksim Petrov had opened his button for 50,000 before Carlo Wolters jammed in his stack of 350,000 in the small blind. Petrov called off not much later, forcing a showdown.
Carlo Wolters: A♦3♥
Maksim Petrov: 10♣9♥
Wolters flopped two pair on A♠10♦3♣ and improved to a full house on the 3♠ turn. The 4♣ river gave Wolters the checkmark, doubling him up to a stack of 30 big blinds.
Robert Sherwood under the gun and cutoff Erik Sturkenboom had created a pot of 900,000 when they went to a turn of 7♠9♥6♣8♠. Sherwood then put Sturkenboom all-in for 555,000, which Sturkenboom snap-called.
Erik Sturkenboom: Q♠10♣
Robert Sherwood: 6♠6♥
Sherwood's set did not improve to a full house on the J♥ river, seeing Sturkenboom double up with his straight.
