Proudfoot Makes Painful Fold

Level 6 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jonathan Proudfoot
Jonathan Proudfoot

Ranno Sootla raised to 2,300 first to act, gathering calls from Jonathan Proudfoot in the cutoff, as well as Marty Smyth in the button and Joris Ruijs in the big blind.

Sootla continued for 3,000 on the A28 flop, which Proudfoot and Smyth both called, before Ruijs folded.

The 5 turn did nothing to slow Sootla down, continuing for 14,000. Proudfoot called for a second time, but Smyth returned his cards to the dealer.

The Q completed the board, and Sootla put out a bet of 35,000, enough to cover the stack of Proudfoot.

Burning through all three of his time extensions, Proudfoot elected to fold, but did turn over his A2, hoping to garner some information from Sootla.

Sootla said nothing as he dragged in the pot.
