Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Daryl McAleenan
Daryl McAleenan

Daryl McAleenan was under the gun and raised to 2,000,000 with AK.
Oliver Gayko flat-called AQ in the cutoff, and big blind Francesco Gisolfi came along with 43.

Gisolfi checked the QK8 flop to McAleenan, who put in another 2,000,000. Gayko dropped a call in the pot, after which Gisolfi got out of the way.

McAleenan then decided to shove all in for 13,900,000 on the 5 turn, slightly over-betting the pot. Gayko gave it some thought but ended up making the correct fold with his second pair.

Gayko Trending Down

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

It folded to Danilo Donnini in the small blind. He raised to 3,000,000 with AJ, seeing Oliver Gayko call in the big blind. Donnini continued for 3,600,000 on the KK10 flop, causing Gayko to quickly fold A3.

Two hands later, Gayko found A6 on the button. He raised to 2,000,000, after which Vasyl Palandiuk put him to the test by moving all in with 44 in the big blind.

Gayko immediately let go of his cards as he dove under 30 big blinds in chips.

Donnini's Stack Drops Further

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

Vasyl Palandiuk opened his KQ to 2,000,000 in the cutoff. Danilo Donnini fancied a flop with 86 in the big blind, and flicked in calling chips.

The J76 flop was checked through to the Q turn, where Donnini led out for 2,000,000. Palandiuk just called with his top pair, after which the K river completed the board.

Donnini slowed down and checked. Palandiuk, having been upgraded to two pair, slid 6,800,000 into the middle, winning the pot when Donnini quickly mucked his bottom pair.

Isaac Barker pushed in most of his stack under the gun, raising to 4,600,000. Narcis Nedelcu then three-bet to 8,200,000 in the small blind, and Barker quickly called off his 2,200,000 remaining chips.

Isaac Barker: A4 All in
Narcis Nedelcu: A10

Barker did not find any help on the 683 flop or J turn. The 8 river did not bring a four either, cementing Barker's status as the seventh-place finisher.

Nedelcu, meanwhile, raked in yet another pot to take over the chip lead at the final table.

Donnini fired 2,300,000 into the pot on the Q96, which Nedelcu check-called. Both players then knuckled the table on the J turn, and the 8 river was checked to showdown as well.

Nedelcu tabled 97 for a pair of nines, besting the A6 of Donnini to rake in the pot.

After 46 Successful Years the Irish Poker Open is Going International; 3 New Stops Announced

Level 38 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

The longest-running poker tournament outside of Las Vegas is the Irish Poker Open (IPO), which debuted in Dublin back in 1980. Now, for the very first time, after 46 years, the IPO is expanding to an international stage.

The current IPO kicked off back on March 26 and will run through the weekend, wrapping up on April 6. On Friday night, organizers took the opportunity to make a splash with the announcement of three international Irish Poker Open destinations set to debut across 2026–2027.

The announcement revealed IPO stops in Australia, Marrakech, and the United States.

  • Sydney gets the first international Irish Open with a 10-day festival at the Poker Palace from September 6–15 featuring numerous tournaments, including a $2,000 buy-in, $1 million guaranteed Main Event.
  • Marrakech will host the second overseas stop, November 10-15, with a six-day event at the glamorous Casino de Marrakech featuring a €1,150 buy-in, €500,000 guaranteed Main Event.
  • USA – the third stop is being planned for one of North America’s most prestigious poker venues, though the exact location is still a mystery. The Irish Open’s United States debut is set for 2027, with full details to be announced soon.

Here’s a look at the official announcement that was shown to players in the tournament room. The video is the opening act of a longer documentary, which will be released shortly after this year’s IPO festival.

Narcis Nedelcu opened his 44 to 2,000,000 under the gun. After some thought, Vasyl Palandiuk folded KJ as next to act, and the rest of the table quickly followed suit.

Afterward, the players were sent on a 20-minute break.

Donnini Nearing 70 Million; Barker on Crumbs

Level 37 : Blinds 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Danilo Donnini found 33 in the cutoff and raised to 1,600,000. Vasyl Palandiuk defended his big blind with 87 and check-called when Donnini fired 1,800,000 on the 73A flop.

Palandiuk checked again on the J turn. Donnini sized up to 4,200,000 with his set, causing Palandiuk to give up on his pair by folding his hand.

The next hand, Oliver Gayko made it 1,800,000 to go in the cutoff with AQ. The short-stacked Isaac Barker defended 87 in the big blind, after which both players checked the 3105 flop.

Barker also checked the 4 turn, prompting Gayko to fire in a bet of 1,200,000. Barker quickly mucked, leaving him with a stack of eight big blinds.
