Ivan Tononi had three-bet from the button preflop, and Ross Miller had called in the hijack, leading to a pot of roughly 35,000 in the middle.

Tononi then continued for 8,000 on the 10♥10♦8♠ flop, which Miller check-called. The 4♦ turn was then checked through to the K♣ river. Miller checked again, prompting Tononi to place a bet of 30,000.

Miller spent some time in the tank before he announced a call. Tononi tabled A♠A♦, and Miller paid his opponent what he owed.

Arriving on the 7♣K♦4♦8♥3♣ river with around 80,000 in the pot, Alexis Morel checked from the cutoff to Niall Costigan on the button, who put in a bet of 33,500.

Morel went deep into the tank. After a few minutes, Costigan had seen enough and called the clock on his opponent.

Morel was given a 30-second countdown. In the final few seconds, he slammed in a call worth about half his remaining chips.

Costigan tabled K♠J♠ for top pair, winning the pot as Morel flung his cards into the muck in frustration.

Kees van Brugge opened to 6,000 in middle position, getting called by Dan Samson in the hijack and Moya Murphy in the big blind.

"The two biggest stacks at the table," Murphy noted.

"The three biggest stacks," Samson corrected her as the 8♠4♦5♣ flop was checked to him.

He then bet 12,000, receiving calls from both opponents. The trio checked through the 2♦ turn, after which Murphy and Van Brugge both checked the 6♠ river as well.

Samson piled in a bet of 30,000, quickly folding out Murphy. Van Brugge spent some time in the tank, however. Eventually, the clock was called on him. Van Brugge let his hand go near the end of his 30-second countdown, surrendering the pot.

"I nearly called," Murphy said as Samson dragged the pot.

"I almost called with queen-high," Van Brugge admitted.

"Queen-high? What do you put me on to call with queen-high?" a bewildered Samson asked his opponent.

"Ten-high," Van Brugge dryly replied.

He had tabled 7♦7♣ for a set of sevens, winning the 75,000 in the middle as well as doubling his remaining stack when Anthony Harrison revealed A♣K♥ for top two pair.

Verheij doubled up to an above-average stack, while Harrison dipped back down to a startick stack.
