Final Chances for Galway Poker Festival Main Event Glory as Day 1e and Day 1f Ring In Night Shift

The Elusive Galway Cup
The Elusive Galway Cup

The €600 Galway Poker Festival Main Event has been a great success so far. The €300,000 guaranteed prize pool attracted players from all over the world to The Galmont Hotel & Spa in Galway, Ireland to compete in the Irish Poker Tour event. With two starting flights yet to kick off, and late registration still being open in the ongoing Day 1d, that guarantee has already almost been met.

At the time of writing, 567 entries have been made across the four starting days. However, that number will only grow larger as Day 1e commences at 5 p.m. local time. This flight will know 25-minute levels, and, as with all other starting days, 15 of them will be played before the day finishes. All survivors will then bag up for the second and final day, which is scheduled to commence on Sunday, January 7 at noon local time.

Blinds will start at 100/100, with a 100 big blind ante, which means that players will start very deep-stacked with their 50,000 starting chips. Late registration will close after the second break of the day, once Level 9 has been completed. Players who opt to register at the last second will still have 25 big blinds at their disposal, a testament to the great structure of the Main Event.

For those who fail to find a bag in this flight or those who simply enjoy fast-paced poker, one last starting day is scheduled for 10 p.m. local time. Day 1f is the turbo flight of the Galway Poker Festival, being played with 15-minute levels, but otherwise following the same blind structure as the rest of the starting days.

PokerNews will be providing an extensive live report for Day 1e, and will also report the chip counts of Day 1f once it finishes, which is expected to be around 2:30 a.m. local time.

So make sure to stay tuned as the first phase of the Galway Poker Festival Main Event reaches its thrilling conclusion.
