Day 1d of the €600 Galway Poker Cup Main Event has concluded with 44 players bagging up for Day 2. Full chip counts and a recap of the day will follow shortly.
Keith Cummins open-jammed his stack of 130,000 from middle position and was called by Declan McNamara, with McNamara at risk.
Declan McNamara: Q♣Q♠
Keith Cummins: 8♦8♥
McNamara was in great shape for the double up with queens versus Cummins' eights.
The K♥5♥3♥ flop gave Cummins outs to the heart flush draw, but the 3♦ turn and 5♠ river provided no assistance, giving McNamara a valuable double-up in the penultimate hand of the night.

The tournament director has just announced the players will play three more hands before play concludes.
After being left with crumbs in the previous hand, Allen McLean moved all in from early position for 9,000. Douglas Culligan three-bet to 20,000, before Mihal Mazilu moved all in for 97,000. Culligan quickly called and covered both players.
Allen McLean: A♥K♥
Mihal Mazilu: Q♦Q♠
Douglas Culligan: A♠A♣
Culligan's aces were in great shape versus the queens of Mazilu and ace-king of McLean and continued to be so after the K♦8♦2♥ flop.
However the 4♥ turn brought McLean a flush draw, and the 8♥ rolled off on the river to secure McLean the triple up with the nut flush. Culligan won the significant side pot, sending Mazilu to the rail.

Mihal Mazilu: J♣J♥
Allen McLean: Q♥10♥
Mazilu was ahead with a pair of jacks and the runout of 4♦7♥8♦2♠8♣ did not alter matters, giving Mazilu a timely double up and leaving McLean with crumbs.
