Krause On the Rail; Novotny Doubles

Andreas Krause had hung around with a short stack for a while but eventually saw his hopes fade. In a duel of short stacks, he could not beat the pocket kings of Yurii Shevchuk on a board of Q♣Q♠4♦10♣8♥ and headed to the payout desk.

One table over, Tomas Novotny three-bet jammed his last 140,000 and Ryan Oliver called with the words "I hope you don't have aces. I am ahead of everything but aces."

Novotny did have the aces, though, and revealed his A♥A♠J♠6♣. Oliver's K♦K♣9♠3♣ had some outs all the way on the 9♥2♠2♣ flop and 7♠ turn but the 2♥ river ensured the double up of the Czech player.

"That's a good strategy to just wait for aces," Oliver joked.

"Yeah, it has been working well so far ... every three orbits," Novotny grinned back.

There are only 25 players remaining and they will redraw once the next casualty is confirmed.

Grzegorz Derkowski raised it up to 70,000 and Lautaro Guerra three-bet the pot to 270,000 from one seat over in the small blind. Guerra had fewer than that behind and Derkowski eventually settled on a shove for Guerra to call.

Ryan Oliver raised to 75,000 on the button and was called by Dorel Eldabach in the small blind. Tomas Novotny, in the big blind, then moved all in for around 400,000.

"Sick squeeze spot," Oliver said before he mucked. Eldabach, though, called to put Novotny at risk.

The 5♥10♦A♥ flop gave both players top pair, but Eldabach improved to a flush on the K♥ turn.

The river came the 2♣ and Novotny was eliminated in 23rd place.

After the hand, Oliver admitted he would've flopped a set. "You would've won all my chips," he told Eldabach.

"This guy has big talent," Sebastian Langrock said about Eldabach.

Grzegorz Derkowski opened to 75,000 and Ryan Oliver called in the cutoff. Dorel Eldabach squeezed to 275,000 on the button and much to his surprise, both players called.

The flop came 4♠3♣2♦ and it checked to Eldabach, who happily rubbed his hands and then announced a bet of 350,000 with a big smile on the face.

Derkowski quickly folded and Oliver was in a brief tank.

"You gotta fold as well ... I play 1k, 2k, I know the game," Eldabach grinned.

"I have two back doors," Oliver replied but folded shortly after.

The river came the 8♠ and Madsen led out for another 310,000. Albeck snap-called and turned over Q♥5♣5♦2♠ for a set of fives to win the pot.

At the same time at another table, Adolf Buettner bet 150,000 on a board of K♠Q♦A♦7♥ and small blind Tim Van Loo called.

The river came the J♦ and Van Loo led out for 500,000. Buettner snapped him off and won the pot with 10♦7♠4♦3♠ for a flush.
