Hockin Loses Massive Pot

Paul Hockin
Paul Hockin

Paul Hockin has just seen all but about 14,000 of his chips sent across the table to a player that won a massive pot from him.

The flop was {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} when the first player fired 4,500 into Hockin. Hockin raised to 13,000 and his opponent reraised to 33,500. Hockin moved all in and his opponent called.

Hockin held the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top pair and his opponent held the {4-Hearts}{3-Spades} for bottom two pair.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {5-Spades}. Hockin sent over the 69,200 chips total that he needed to pay and was left crushed.

Strechar Soars, Then Slips

After making a straight holding {Q-}{7-} against {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on a {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades} board, Ademir Strechar soared to roughly 160,000.

However in a few hands directly following the one where he gathered the most chips, he bled some back to the table.

After raising preflop, and calling a bet on the flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, Strechar folded when the turn blanked out as his opponent flashed his {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The following hand, Strechar limped in before Guilherme Marques Garcia bumped it to 4,300.

Strechar called before both players checked the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} as the {6-Hearts} landed on the turn and Strechar fired out 2,100. Garcia quickly raised it up to 6,000 to prompt a swift fold from Strechar as he slipped to 144,000 in chips.

Dion Takes It Backdoor

From the cutoff seat, Yann Dion raised to 2,600. He was called by the big blind and the two saw the flop come down {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades}. The big blind checked and Dion fired a continuation bet of 3,200. The big blind made the call.

The turn card brought the {5-Spades}. The big blind checked and Dion thought. He motioned to see how much was left in his opponent's stack and the player moved his hands out of the way so Dion could eye it. Then, Dion fired 9,200. The big blind tanked, but tossed in the call.

The river completed the board with the {3-Spades} and the big blind shoved in for 26,500. Dion called, but saw the bad news as he opponent held the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush. Dion showed that he had flopped top two pair with the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. He's now down to 40,000 in chips.
