Strechar Soars, Then Slips

After making a straight holding {Q-}{7-} against {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} on a {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Spades} board, Ademir Strechar soared to roughly 160,000.

However in a few hands directly following the one where he gathered the most chips, he bled some back to the table.

After raising preflop, and calling a bet on the flop of {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}, Strechar folded when the turn blanked out as his opponent flashed his {K-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The following hand, Strechar limped in before Guilherme Marques Garcia bumped it to 4,300.

Strechar called before both players checked the {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} as the {6-Hearts} landed on the turn and Strechar fired out 2,100. Garcia quickly raised it up to 6,000 to prompt a swift fold from Strechar as he slipped to 144,000 in chips.

Hockin Loses Massive Pot

Paul Hockin
Paul Hockin

Paul Hockin has just seen all but about 14,000 of his chips sent across the table to a player that won a massive pot from him.

The flop was {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} when the first player fired 4,500 into Hockin. Hockin raised to 13,000 and his opponent reraised to 33,500. Hockin moved all in and his opponent called.

Hockin held the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} for top pair and his opponent held the {4-Hearts}{3-Spades} for bottom two pair.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and the river the {5-Spades}. Hockin sent over the 69,200 chips total that he needed to pay and was left crushed.

Four-Bet Victory for Fernandez

Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

With the action folding round to Leo Fernandez in the small blind, he made it 2,200 to go, only to have the big blind bump it to 7,200.

Pausing for a few moments, Fernandez four-bet all in to force an insta-fold from his opponent, while he climbed back to 34,000 in chips.

Frank Falls

Dan Frank
Dan Frank

Dan Frank approached the PokerNews blogging desk to deliver some bad news...

He had been eliminated.

Detailing the hand in question, he called a button raise from the big blind with {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} after the small blind also called. On a nine-high board with two hearts, he jammed the remainder of his stack in, but unfortunately for Frank, the button held {9-}{9-} and made the call with top set.

Frank managed to pick up a gutshot straight draw on the turn, but failed to spike on the river and the poker player agent -- who managed to outlast two of his clients in Joe Cada and Victor Ramdin -- was forced to join them on the beach!
