Pardo Triples

Rafael Pardo
Rafael Pardo

Rafael Pardo shoved for 106,000 from middle position and was called by Francisco Corvalan in the cutoff and Julian Menendez in the small blind.

Corvalan and Menendez checked down the {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} board and the hands were revealed. Menendez showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, Corvalan tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, but both were beat by the {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} held by Pardo.

Ponce Pounces

With over 100,000 in the pot and a flop of {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{J-Spades}, Carlos Ponce checked and opened the door for his opponent, Simon Campo, to bet 45,000. Not to be outdone, Ponce check-raised to 120,000, which sent Campo into the tank.

A few minutes passed before a clock was called by someone else at the table, and Campo ultimately folded. Ponce quickly revealed {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}, knowing it was essentially a bluff, and Campo disgustingly reached into the muck, grabbed his cards, and showed that he had laid down {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

Jairo Shoves

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Gilberto Castillo raised to 35,000 from middle position and cleared the field all the way to Jhon Jairo in the big blind, who moved all in for 237,000. Castillo gave it some thought but decided 200K was too much to risk. Just like that, Jairo picked up some much-needed chips.

Jairo Gets Revenge On Bertoli

Tulio Bertoli - 27th place
Tulio Bertoli - 27th place

A series of preflop raises led to Tulio Bertoli all in for about 270,000 with {6-Spades}{6-Clubs} against Jhon Jairo's {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

Bertoli was already up 1-0 on races with Jairo, so how would he fare this time? All looked well after the {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop, but the {Q-Clubs} spiked on the turn. The {4-Diamonds} river didn't save Bertoli, out in 27th place.

Pardo-n Me

Francisco Corvalan min-raised to 32,000 from early position and was called by Rafael Pardo in the small blind. When the {K-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} appeared on the flop, Pardo check-called a bet of 41,000, leading to the {3-Clubs} turn. It went check-check, and the dealer revealed the {9-Hearts} on the river.

This time Pardo took the initiative and led out for 120,000, which Corvalan called. Pardo sheepishly turned over {A-Spades}{5-Spades} for a missed flush draw, which was no good against Corvalan's {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Azar Doubles Through Castillo...Then Busts To Castillo

Roxanna Azar arrived about 20 minutes late today, but was involved very quickly. All in for 33,000, she was called by Gilberto Castillo in the big blind.

Castillo: {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Azar: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds} to give Azar the double up. However, Azar fell to Castillo two hands later to be the first player to hit the rail today.
