Therme Scores a Huge Double-Up

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The flop read {8-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} with 42,000 in the middle already.

Peter de Bruin had checked in the small blind and Fabio Berti bet 12,000 from the early position. Jonathan Therme raised to 30,000 from the middle position and De Bruin responded with a three-bet to 90,000. Berti quickly got out of the way and Therme took a few seconds before announcing he was all-in. De Bruin asked for a count and it was confirmed Therme had 188,500 behind. De Bruin contemplated his options for a while and then made the call.

Jonathan Therme: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Peter de Bruin: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

De Bruin had flopped top pair but Therme had the set of eights.

The turn was the {9-Spades} which now gave De Bruin a gutshot to a straight for them to split the pot.

The river completed the board with the {7-Diamonds} for Therme to hold and double up.
