Double-Ups for Everyone as Bubble Approaches

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

It's time to get your chips in pronto and hope to double up as the money bubble approaches. 26 players are left with only 23 making the money, and the clock is ticking.

First, Benoit Grobocopatel's {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} looked to be in trouble against overnight chipleader Abdellah El Ghrari's {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. The flop of {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} didn't help him, neither did the {9-Diamonds} on the turn, but he let out a roar of delight as the river came {a-Spades} giving him the double up.

A short while afterwards, Christopher Chaudey moved all in from under the gun for his remaining 59,000. Tsunamy called in middle position and the remaining players folded.

Chaudey: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Tsunamy: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{3-Clubs} and Chaudey doubled up.

Bubble Time as Christopher Chaudey Hits the Rail in 25th

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Christopher Chaudey raised to 15,000 from under the gun. Benoit Grobocopatel three-bet to 41,000 from the button. The blinds folded before Chaudey moved all in for around 120,000. Grobocopatel instantly called.

Grobocopatel: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Chaudey: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} and Chaudey was left with 4,000 in chips. Which went in from the big blind next hand without looking.

Tsunamy opened to 12,000 and there were two callers. The three then checked down a board of {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Tsunamy won the sidepot with {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}, meaning that Chaudey needed either a full house or the {a-Clubs} or {q-Clubs} to stay alive. Sadly he held {5-Spades}{2-Spades} and left the tournament in 25th.

Pierre Neuville
Pierre Neuville

On a {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board, Pierre Neuville got his remaining 120,000 or so chips into the middle against Tsunamy. Not too long ago Tsunamy was the run away chip leader, but he was behind holding {k-}{10-} to Neuville's {q-Spades}{j-Spades}.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and the river the {7-Diamonds} meaning the Belgian doubled up.
