Nine players will take their seats under the bright lights of the main feature stage when the final table of the 2025 Marrakech Poker Open Main Event begins at 1:30 p.m. local time.

Just one of them will become a champion by the end of the day, and Javier Tsunamy is the player in the best position to walk away with the trophy. Tsunamy takes the chip lead into the event’s final day with 1,965,000. The Spaniard has some experience at final tables, including finishing in fifth place in the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event at the 2016 World Series of Poker for $75,000, part of his more than $900,000 in live earnings.

Trying to chase him down are the likes of Luigi Macaluso (1,230,000), Bogdan Vulcan (1,115,000), and Mounir Tajiou (895,000). A regular in Marrakech, Macaluso made the final table of WSOP Circuit Super High Roller event here in January and also has a WSOP final table on his resume. Tajiou finished second in the Kings of Tallinn Main Event in February for €115,000, and was also runner-up in a €10,200 event at EPT Prague in 2023.

Each of the nine players is already guaranteed 55,000 MAD (€5,240) for making it through the 229-player field to get to this point, while the champion will earn 500,000 MAD (€47,645).

The action at the final table picks up with 15 minutes remaining in Level 22 with blinds of 10,000-20,000 and a 20,000 big blind ante. Levels will now be 60 minutes long. The final table will be streamed on the Casino de Marrakech official YouTube and Twitch channels.

Promises of poker glory brought hundreds of players here to enjoy the hospitality of the Es Saadi Marrakech Resort and bask in the Moroccan sun. For these nine players, that promise is close to becoming reality. PokerNews will be following all the action from the final table and providing live updates until a champion is crowned.
