Banicevic Folds to Shove

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

After a raise to 1,100 by the player in under the gun, Vlado Banicevic flat-called in the cutoff. Jean Montury squeezed to 3,300 in the small blind and only Banicevic called. Both players checked the {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and Montury then bet the {4-Clubs} turn for 6,400. Banicevic called for almost half of his remaining stack to see the {A-Clubs} fall on the river.

Montury moved all in within a matter of seconds and his opponent from Montenegro folded.

Boeken Buys Back In

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

The tournament clock is stuck on 99 entries for Day 1a and the latest addition to the field was a player that had already been in there before. Noah Boeken lost the remainder of his short stack and then purchased the second bullet.

Louis Salter also busted and his seat is now occupied by Faraz Jaka.

Verhagen Likes Pies

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

After a raise to 1,100 and the cold-call by Mateusz Moolhuizen, Johan "taartje" Verhagen squeezed to 3,000 out of the big blind and the initial raiser called, Moolhuizen folded in the small blind. The {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop saw Verhagen waste little time before firing a continuation bet worth 4,000 and that shut down all further action.

The nickname "taartje" means little pie and he has many chips, too.

Van de Venne In the Lead

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

One of the few players that won his entry through the one-hand SNG four-bet to 13,000 before calling all in for 35,000 chips with the {A-Spades}{K-Spades}. Andre van de Venne had put the German to the rest with the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts} and the flop {K-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} was already quite decisive.

It was all over after the {2-Hearts} turn, no sweat potential anymore. The meaningless {9-Spades} on the river was just a formality and van de Venna jumped into the lead.

Metaal vs Finger

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Martin Finger raised from under the gun and found one caller in Govert Metaal out of the blinds. The Dutchman bet the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop for 1100 and Finger called before doing so again on the {K-Clubs} turn for 3,300. The {Q-Hearts} river killed all betting action and the duo checked, Metaal showed {4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a flopped straight and flush on the last community card to win the pot.

Feenstra's Kings not Cracked

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

The table of Mateusz Moolhuizen broke recently to balance out the remaining 67 players and one of the most recent casualties was Joris Ruys. The Dutchman had gotten his stack in preflop with pocket eights against the kings of Rens Feenstra.

An eight on the flop was a relief, but it was followed by a king as well and the one outer never came.

Visser Gets his Revenge

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

"Aces versus Kings against the same guy," defending Main Event champion Ruben Visser said and referred to Bart Fergiatakis over in the four seat. Visser had previously lost in the same scenario with kings to aces of Fergiatakis and now got his revenge.

Also on the up: Daniel Dvoress.

Smit Busts with a Bluff

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Dennis Smit
Dennis Smit

Denis Smit defended his big blind against a raise by David Boyaciyan to 1,200. On the flop {10-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Spades}, Smit check-raised from 1,600 to 4,350 and was called. Smit then led the {Q-Hearts} turn for 6,400 to receive a call by the 2011 MCOP champion. The {10-Clubs} fell on the river and Smit moved all in for 31,250, sending Boyaciyan into the think tank for a fair amount of time.

Once Boyaciyan made the call, it was a great one with the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} as Smit was caught bluffing with {K-Spades}{2-Spades} for a busted straight and flush draw.
