Day 1b Started
The second starting day of the €4,000 + 250 LIDO Main Event of the Master Classics of Poker at the Holland Casino is scheduled to get underway in half an hour from now at 14:00 local time. In yesterday's first flight, 100 entries were generated and 44 survivors made it through to Day 2 with Rens Feenstra leading the pack at 149,100 chips.
Plenty of notables already booked their seat for tomorrow, however a bumper field of pros and amateurs alike is expected back at the tables today. Especially the High Rollers, who determined their winner of the €10,000 buy-in last night in Kuljinder Sidhu, will be represented with such familiar names as 2012 MCOP champion Ole Schemion, Jani Sointula and Elliot Smith. Senh Ung, Timothy Adams, Paul Newey and even Steve O'Dwyer are also among the likely contenders for the Main Event title here in the Netherlands as well.
All players that busted on Day 1a and didn't bag up chips are welcome to reenter for the second flight. Furthermore, all participants can purchase a second bullet throughout the nine scheduled levels of one hour each should they run out of the 30,000 chips entirely. The overall prize pool will only be known after the start of Day 2 as the reentry period remains open until the first card is dealt on Wednesday.
The PokerNews live reporting team will bring you fresh news directly from the tables, so make sure to check in often. For Twitter updates, the official hashtag of the event on Twitter is #MCOP.
Similar to Day 1a yesterday, it has just been confirmed that the start of the tournament will be pushed back to approximately 14:45 local time. Make sure to come a bit earlier for the table draw, though.
The Holland Casino is hosting rake-free one hand satellites and Pieter de Korver just won his entry to the Main Event for only 10% of the buy-in. His made a full house on the river and the Dutchman is looking to better a second place from 2012, where he lost in heads-up against the one and only Ole Schemion.
The enormous run-good of Tobias Peters throughout the last few days continues. The Dutchman came second in the €1,500 reentry event two days ago and defeated Jonathan Rozema in the €500 Speed event last night.
In the second one hand satellite, he won the ticket with five-six off suit after spiking two pair.
And.... @Tobias_Peters_ wins the second One Hand Satellite @MCOP. Unbelievable! https://t.co/4xZrYMWz5BFollow @webjoker

He won the Sunday Warm Up and another event on Winamax the same night before taking down the Hot 55 last night.

Jani Sointula bet the turn for what looked like 3,300 and his table neighbor in the small blind check-raised to 7,400 in order to scoop the pot. The Finn quickly got out of the way and appeared to have lost around 5,000 chips right off the start.
The other tables nearby include some interesting table constellations as well. Keith Hawkins sits with Vlado Banicevic, Jasper Wetemans and Makarios Avramidis. And Pieter de Korver plays against Olvedo Heinze, Nikolaus Teichert and Jasper Meijer van Putten.
