Roberts' Massive Stack

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante
Doug Roberts
Doug Roberts

We got there on the flop as Doug Roberts had bet 1,000 from the big blind with a board of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} in front of him. Bartel Kars, seated in early position, called. Ron Spronk in late position squeezed to 3,025 and both Roberts and Kars called.

Roberts and Kars checked on the {7-Clubs} turn and Spronk bet 5,025. Roberts called, Kars called.

The {4-Diamonds} completed the board and again Roberts and Kars checked. Spronk shoved all in for a ton of chips, though we're unsure how much it was exactly as Roberts instantly called and Kars instantly open folded his {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, so the dealer never needed to do a count.

Roberts showed {3-Hearts}{6-Spades}, the "big blind special" as he called it, and Spronk mucked {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Van Boxtel Bad Beats Aerts, Collects Another Scalp

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Raul van Boxtel told us about another hand he hit to bust yet another player.

Kees Aerts opened from middle position and Van Boxtel called on the button, as did a player in the blinds. Aerts continuation bet 1,400 on {7-}{6-}{3-} with two clubs and Van Boxtel called, the player in the blinds folded. As a {9-} hit the turn, Aerts bet 4,100. Van Boxtel pushed all in and Aerts snap-called.

Kees Aerts: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Raul van Boxtel: {7-}{7-}

The river {3-} paired the board, giving Van Boxtel a full house to beat Aerts' straight. Van Boxtel's bounty is now worth a massive €1,750.

Minten Out

Level 6 : 150/300, 25 ante

Niek Minten won some pots early on but it didn't help him make a deep run in this event. He has just been eliminated by countryman Bob Janssens.

Janssens told us he busted Minten with {K-}{Q-} against {9-}{9-}. Minten's nines didn't hold up and Janssens could start stacking.

Van Boxtel Gets Richer, His Bounty Bigger

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Raul van Boxtel was sitting on a stack worth 75,000 all of the sudden and told us about a hand that had catapulted him to the ownership of that massive chip castle.

A short-stacked German player shoved all in for 1,400 and Van Boxtel called holding {Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. His neighbor, Roseline Siman, 3-bet to 4,500 and Van Boxtel called.

The flop came {Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Van Boxtel checked. Siman bet 8,000 and Van Boxtel pushed all in. Siman called with {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for the open-ended but failed to get there. The German player had {A-}{Q-} so tripled up, but Van Boxtel collected Siman's bounty.

Not much later, a French player limped in. Kees Aerts raised and found 4 players calling, including Van Boxtel and the French limper. On the flop, Van Boxtel and Karen Luir checked their blinds. The French player shoved all in for only a couple hundred of chips, and Van Boxtel shoved over the top. Muir wasn't too sure about what to do, but eventually elected to fold.

Raul van Boxtel: {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
French player: {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {4-Spades} on the turn and {8-Spades} didn't do enough for the French player and Van Boxtel collected another bounty. He's worth €1,250 himself right now.
