Wesselink Doubles Through Helppi

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Wim Anne Wesselink
Wim Anne Wesselink

Wim Anne Wesselink called us over, telling us he just doubled through his neighbor Juha Helppi.

Wesselink opened the hijack for 700 and Helppi, in the cutoff, 3-bet to 2,000. As the action folded back around to Wesselink, he called.

Wesselink check-called a bet of 2,400 on {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} before checking again on the {Q-Hearts} turn. This time, Helppi bet 6,000. Wesselink shoved for around 21,000 and Helppi called.

Juha Helppi: {A-}{J-}
Wim Anne Wesselink: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The river {K-} didn't change a thing and Wesselink scored the full double.

Schoonbrood Cracks Schemion's Aces With Deuce-Five

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

We were just in time for the showdown in a big pot between Jean Philippe Schoonbrood and Ole Schemion but missed the pre-flop action. Tablemate Michiel Brummelhuis was kind enough to inform us of what had happened up until that point.

Schoonbrood had raised the hijack and small blind Schemion had 3-bet. Schoonbrood then called, and called Schemion's continuation bet on {2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} as well.

The {K-Hearts} hit the turn and Schemion bet 8,000. Schoonbrood moved all in for 31,300 and Schemion called.

Jean Philippe Schoonbrood: {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Ole Schemion: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The river {Q-Hearts} was a blank and Schoonbrood doubled.

Van Hoof Bluffs With Aces

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

You just missed a great hand," Joris Ruys told us, "Jorryt just bluffed with aces."

Ruys continued to tell us about a hand where Van Hoof opened under the gun for 700. Daan Mulders called in middle position and the big blind over called.

The flop came {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and as the big blind checked, Van Hoof bet 1,100. Mulders called, the big blind folded.

Van Hoof continued for 3,500 on the {5-Spades} turn and got called again.

The {Q-Diamonds} completed the board and Van Hoof bet 10,600. Mulders called and Van Hoof showed {A-Diamonds}{A-}. Mulders tabled {K-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and received the pot quick enough.

Van Hoof Busts

While he lost a decent amount of chips not too long ago when he lost with aces, he still had a sizable stack left. Despite that, he just busted and instantly reentered. His former tablemate (and good friend) Puk Nabuurs filled us in on the details of the hand.

Hossein Ensan opened the button and Van Hoof 3-bet from the small blind. Ensan called and called all streets as Van Hoof fired 3 bullets on {3-}{5-}{8-} (2 spades), {K-}, {6-Spades}.

Van Hoof showed {A-}{Q-} for nothing much, Ensan tabled {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for 4th pair.
