Day 2 of the Master Classics of Poker Amsterdam was the day to play down to the money. After 7 levels of play, that goal was reached. Joris "BillLewinsky" Ruijs bubbled the prestigious event in the Dutch capital, Igor Yaroshevskyy leads.

The day started with the elimination of Dutch Fatima Moreira de Melo. The sponsored pro started out the shortest but got it in good with ace-queen against ace-ten. Her opponent made a straight and after just 2 hands, she could return back home.

Sander van Wesemael, the Dutch record-holder if it comes to MCOP events won, followed her to the rail not much later. His jacks fell to countryman Niek Minten's ace-king and that was it for the Dutch grinder.

The news at the start of the day would be dominated by bust outs. Orpen Kisacikoglu (straight versus flush), Joep van den Bijgaart (pair versus flush draw that got there), and Jorryt van Hoof (top pair and top kicker versus a flush draw) all busted before the money was even in sight.

Same could be said about Ole Schemion who lost with kings to aces and aces in a big all in. Another big all in, again involving aces and kings, was between Govert Metaal and Jean-Philippe Schoonboord. Metal limped with aces under the gun and Schoonbrood over limped with kings plus one. The 2 got it in before the flop anyway as another player raised and a 3-bet followed. A king on the flop did Metaal in, setting him back considerably, he busted not much later.

It would take to well after midnight for the bubble to burst. Rens Feenstra lost a lot of chips trying to bluff Martin Kabrhel of a full house, but he won a lot of it back the next hand crippling Joris Ruijs with kings against ace-king.

Ruijs was down to a single big blind after that and he lost it the next hand to John Juanda. Juanda had kings and Ruijs, despite hitting a four on the flop, did not make a comeback.

With just 39 players remaining, the day was done and the bags came out. Play resumes on Thursday with the goal of reaching the final table. All of the remaining players are guaranteed €8,577. For the champion, a first-place prize of €235,087 is set aside. Check back tomorrow for continued coverage of the 2017 Master Classics of Poker Main Event, live from Holland Casino Amsterdam.
