Volkmann Doubles Through Phua

Level 13 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Paul Phua raised to 16,000 from under the gun before Bruno Volkmann moved all in from early position for 137,000. Action folded back to Phua who snap called.

Bruno Volkmann: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Paul Phua: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

It was a classic flip but the flop was all Volkmann as it came {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The turn was the {j-Clubs} which offered little help for Phua. The river was the {7-Hearts} which gave Volkmann the double up and left Phua with just 15,000.

Phua was forced all in the next hand and eliminated from the tournament.

Ivanov Knocks Out Chisu and Antonius

Level 12 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action was caught with Patrik Antonius all in for around 40,000 from early position and Danut Chisu all in for about 155,000 in the big blind. Vladislav Ivanov, in the cutoff, had both players comfortably covered.

Patrik Antonius: {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Danut Chisu: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Vladislav Ivanov: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Ivanov had both players dominated and took a huge lead on the {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, with Chisu having backdoor straight and flush draws.

The {j-Clubs} turn gave Chisu a straight draw but the {a-Clubs} gave Ivanov the double elimination.
