The poker world has descended on the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel in North Cyprus for the start of the $5,300 Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party Main Event today at noon local time.
A group of the game’s elite, including Chino Rheem, Steve O'Dwyer, Artur Martirosian, Niall Farrell, and reigning world champion Espen Jorstad, has journeyed to this seaside paradise in the eastern Mediterranean Sea to take their shot at the $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Today marks the first of three starting flights, Players will receive 100,000 starting chips and play eight 60-minute levels, beginning at 200-400 with a 400 big blind ante. There will be a 20-minute break after every two levels.
One re-entry per flight is allowed, with late registration open until the end of Level 13 on Day 2. Those surviving Day 1 will return to play on September 1, with a champion being crowned on September 3.
