Day two kicks off with 125 players still in contention from a 900-player field that has a guaranteed $1,000,000 prize pool. Each player is automatically in the money, having made Day 2, and will earn $2,000 for a minimum cash. First place will take home $150,000 for their troubles.
The plan is to play down to a final table of 9 players and come back on Tuesday to crown a champion in Event #1: $1,100 MPP Open. Some names still in the mix include American crusher Chino Rheem, who strolled into the venue in the evening on Day 1d and fired one bullet into 610,000 chips. Well above an average stack. Damir Zhugralin with 324,000 is a previous winner at Merit Poker Events, he'll be looking to get another victory here to add to his poker resume. Stylish Italian player, Luca Stevanato boasts a big stack for Day 2, coming in with 780,000 after steadily increasing his stack throughout proceedings in Day 1c.
Structure wise, it will continue as it has, there will be 15-minute breaks scheduled at the end of every three 40-minute levels with a 60 minute dinner break after 9 levels of play. The breaks will be subject to change, where players may see some breaks run 20-minutes during colour-ups etc.
Prestigious events like The One Drop, The PokerNews Cup, and the MPP Main Event will follow the event here in North Cyprus, before it heads into the Triton Series where the best players on the planet will battle in big money stakes tournaments.
Keep it here with PokerNews for the latest live updates from the Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party over the coming weeks.
