Aslan Betters Zimmermann Again

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
Kemal Aslan
Kemal Aslan

Celine Zimmerman opened to 1,800 from under the gun and was called by the hijack and Kemal Aslan in the cutoff.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Zimmermann continued for 5,000. The hijack would fold but Aslan made the call.

The {3-Clubs} put a third three on the board and both players would tap the table.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Zimmermann put out a bet of 10,000 that was snapped off by Aslan. Zimmermann tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} but it was no good as Aslan turned over {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a full house and the win.

She would hold through the {3-} turn and {8-} river and take her stack to over 80,000.

Player Runs Triple-Barrel Bluff into Galiullin's Rivered Full House

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Ruslan Galiullin
Ruslan Galiullin

Following a round of betting on the flop, there was 20,000 in the middle on a {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board. The big blind fired a second barrel for 8,000 and Ruslan Galiullin called from the button.

The river brought the {10-Hearts} and the big blind shoved and was snapped off by Galiullin, who tabled {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the rivered full house. His opponent hysterically laughed out of the room as he could only table {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for a failed triple-barrel bluff and exited the tournament area.

Action was caught with 2,300 in the middle on a {2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} board and Ali Mehrabian, from the hijack, put out a bet of 1,000. The big blind called.

The turn brought the {9-Hearts} and Mehrabian fired a second time for 2,000. The big blind raised to 8,000 and Mehrabian called.

The river brought the {j-Clubs} and after about 20-to-30 seconds of deliberation, the big blind shoved for 21,200. Mehrabian snap-called and turned over {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a full house.

The big blind turned over {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a turned straight in addition to an open-ended straight flush draw and quickly exited the tournament area.

Players are able to reenter the tournament as much as they want until the end of the break following the conclusion of Level 12. Levels will be 40 minutes in length and players will begin the day with 30,000 chips and with the blinds at 100/100. A big blind ante comes into play at the start of Level 2. There will be a 15-minute break every three levels with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9.

Play will come to a halt once the field has been whittled down to the last 15% of all entries, where players will bag for Day 2 already in the money.

For those who prefer some higher-paced action, the third and final flight of the competition will commence at 8 p.m. local time, where players will play 20-minute turbo levels instead.

As always, PokerNews will be on site providing all of the latest updates and high-flying drama here at the Luxon Pay Mediterranean Poker Party at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Casino. Stay tuned for all the PokerNews Cup coverage until the final hand is dealt and a champion is crowned on Thursday.
