Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Players are now on their last break of the day, with 15-minutes to refresh themselves before coming back to end Day 1b.

Currently 55 remain with 39 players getting through to Day 2 and the money.

Rheem Crushing Souls

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

There was 30,000 in the middle on a completed full house board of {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Jakub Michalak bet 35,000 from the big blind. Chino Rheem on the button shoved all in and easily covered Michalak.

The Polish player thought it over for less than a minute and elected to fold.

Groofi Gets Thin Value

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Asaf Groofi
Asaf Groofi

Heads-up to a flop with Asaf Groofi in the small blind against the button. With 30,000 in the middle, both players checked the {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} board.

However, when the {q-Diamonds} turn fell, Groofi decided to fire 15,000 chips. The button called the Israeli player, to take them to a river.

A {k-Clubs} river drew a 22,000 lead from Groofi and his opponent nonchalantly tossed in calling chips within a couple of seconds of the bet.

Groofi turned over {q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, which was good enough to take down the pot and help him continue his chip up.

Gascoigne On The Ascendancy

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Ian Gascoigne
Ian Gascoigne

Three players were at the turn with 40,500 in the middle and a monotone board of {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, the hijack bet 17,000 and was called by Ian Gascoigne in the big blind, but the bet garnered a fold from the player in middle position.

The {9-Clubs} completed and paired the board. The hijack bet 26,000 but was met with a raise of 56,000 from Gascoigne. The hijack who was enjoying a massage looked disgusted with the raise, shaking their head in disbelief.

The hijack folded their hand and Gascoigne showed the {a-Hearts} for the flush. Gascoigne has gained an above-average stack.

Shomron Finds The Double

Level 15 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Amir Shomron
Amir Shomron

Short stacked Amir Shomron was found all in and at risk from middle position for his last 50,000 or so. The hijack to his direct left had also moved all in behind him and all other players got out of the way.

Amir Shomron: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Opponent: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

A run out of {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{4-Clubs} spiked him one of his outs on the turn and he dodged the two-outter on the river.

Currently 22 players need to fall in order to end the day and send remaining players into the money.

Higgins Spinning It Up Well

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Simon Higgins
Simon Higgins

Simon Higgins had to rebuy late in the day today after busting his first bullet. He's done very well since though.

Higgins was found heads-up against the cutoff. From the big blind, Higgins fired 100,000 into a pot of 130,000 on a board of {8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. His opponent went deep into thought taking a chip and rubbing it against his forehead.

Eventually, his cards hit the muck and Higgins has increased his stack to almost half a million now.

Levin Doubles Through Bolor-Erdene

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

All the chips were in the middle preflop with Dmitriy Levin at risk for 81,500 in the small blind against Chingun Bolor-Erdene in the big blind.

Dmitriy Levin: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Chingun Bolor-Erdene: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Bolor-Erdene was a massive underdog preflop and was drawing virtually dead after the flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and would require running tens to win the pot. The miracle was not to happen as {5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} completed the board leaving Bolor-Erdene with crumbs and a double up for Levin.
