$2,200 Luxon Pay Grand Final
Day 1a Started
The 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party picks up steam today with the launch of Event #2: $2,200 Luxon Pay Grand Final at the stunning Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa. Day 1a marks the first of four opening flights in this prestigious event, which boasts a $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Players begin with a 200,000-chip starting stack, giving them plenty of room to maneuver as they navigate fifteen levels of play. Each Day 1 flight follows a progressive clock format, with the first 10 levels lasting 30 minutes each before increasing to 40 minutes for the final five levels.
A shot clock is in effect from the very first hand. Players have 20 seconds to act pre-flop and 30 seconds post-flop, with five 30-second time bank cards issued at registration, at the start of each new day, and again at the final table.
Only a player's largest stack will carry forward to Day 2; multiple stacks are not permitted. Day 2 will feature 10 more levels—five at 40 minutes and five at 50 minutes. Day 3 will play down to a winner, with the final table using a reduced clock based on the number of players remaining.

It was a great start for Steven Radloff, who was raking in a pot to double up his stack early on.
The chips had already found themselves in the middle on a 8♠2♥4♥A♦6♠ board with Sajad Abud tabling A♥2♣ for two pair. Unfortunately for Abud, Radloff held the rockets with A♠A♣ for top set!

There was a raise to 2,500 from middle position and Dan Borlan called in the hijack before Illia Filonenko squeezed to 9,000 from the cutoff. Both middle position and Borlan called.
The flop came 6♦K♠3♣ and when it checked to Filonenko, he continued for 10,000. Only Borlan called to see the 7♦ on the turn, where again the action got to Filonenko. Without much hesitation, another bet came in from Filonenko, this time for 30,000, and again Borlan called.
When the 8♣ filled out the board, Borlan checked for a third time and after a while, Filonenko checked back.
Borlan then showed a flopped set with 6♥6♠, and Filonenko mucked.

With around 30,000 in the middle on a board of 3♥8♠9♠A♦, Sofia Merkulova fired out 10,000 from middle position and Vladislav Dubanov min-raised to 20,000 from the next seat. Merkulova called.
A 7♦ completed the runout and after Merkulova checked, Dubanov used some extra time before he bet 75,000. Merkulova waited for a few moments before she moved all in, and Dubanov asked for a count.
It was 152,000 total and with a huge sigh, Dubanov folded his hand.
