After a thrilling start to the $2,200 Luxon Pay Grand Final, the action resumes today at the stunning Merit Royal Diamond Hotel Casino & Spa with Day 1b of the marquee event at the 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party. Following yesterday’s strong turnout of 345 entries—with 53 players making it through—another wave of hopefuls will take their shot at building a stack toward the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players will start with 200,000 chips and play through 15 levels using the same progressive clock structure as Day 1a: 30-minute levels for the first ten, then 40-minute levels for the final five. The shot clock remains active from the first hand, with five 30-second time banks issued at registration.

Straight Flush For Parikka

Level 1 : Blinds 1,000/1,000, 1,000 ante

What a start for Kaarle Parikka!

The action was picked up on a 985 flop with around 8,000 in the middle where the big blind checked and Matthew Pitt bet 2,500. Kaarle Parikka then raised to 8,000 from the cutoff, which got the big blind to fold. Pitt called.

A 7 hit the turn and after Pitt checked, Parikka fired out 12,500. A short while later, Pitt called.

The J completed the runout and again Pitt checked, then Parikka slid forward a time bank, which gave him an extra 30 seconds to think. Parikka then made a bet of 32,500 and without much hesitation, Pitt called.

Parikka then rolled over 86 for a STRAIGHT FLUSH!

"What a river. Horrible river," said Pitt as he flipped JJ for a set.

Stanciu and Tsouloftas Get Busy

Level 1 : Blinds 1,000/1,000, 1,000 ante
Georgios Tsouloftas
Georgios Tsouloftas

With around 60,000 chips already in the middle on a K4K flop, Georgios Tsouloftas had checked from middle position and Traian Stanciu fired out 15,000. Tsouloftas then raised to 37,000 before Stanciu came back with a rare flop three-bet to 65,000.

"65?" asked Tsouloftas. Once he got confirmation from the dealer, he called.

A 9 dropped on the turn and Tsouloftas tapped the table. Stanciu didn't need to think for too long before he announced that he was all in for around 100,000. Tsouloftas tossed all of his time banks into the middle of the table but only needed to use one of them before he finally settled on a fold.
