Dashti Shoves on Bindel

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Ghanim Dashti and Luc Bindel went heads-up to the turn on a board of {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} when Dashti, on the button, bet 275,000.

Bindel called from the small blind as the dealer turned over the {3-Clubs} turn. Dashti attempted to move all in but was reminded it was Bindel's turn to act first.

Bindel checked, then Dashti shoved for his last 255,000. "Don't worry. Take your time," Dashti told Bindel, who tanked for about two minutes before folding.

"Good fold," Dashti said as he took the pot.

Orthodoxou Shows the Nut Flush. Ustimov Shows...a Straight Flush

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Four players went to the turn on a board of {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs} when Viktor Ustimov bet 325,000 from under the gun. Orthodoxos Orthodoxou then moved all in and action folded back to Ustimov.

Ustimov snap-called for his last 1,450,000. "Full house," Orthodoxou asked as he turned over {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}.

Ustimov didn't have a full house. He did, however, show {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the straight flush and doubled up after the {2-Spades} river.

"In my life, I've never seen a straight flush," tablemate Koray Korkmaz told Ustimov after the hand.

Serge Matta
Serge Matta

Danil Shalaev moved all in for 1,125,000 from under the gun and was called by Maroun Jazzar on the button and Serge Matta in the big blind.

The dealer asked the players to show their cards before it was pointed out that Matta was not yet all in. The tournament floor had to be called over to sort out the bets before the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop was dealt.

Matta then moved all in for 365,000 and Jazzar snap-called.

Danil Shalaev: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Serge Matta: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Maroun Jazzar: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Matta had flopped top set and had both opponents crushed. "I'm dead," Jazzar said as he was left with just top two pair. The board ran out {2-Spades}{5-Hearts} and Matta leapt from his seat in celebration, while Shalaev was sent to the rail.

PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.
