Moursy Turns the Nuts

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Abdelrahman Moursy raised to 5,000 under the gun before an opponent in early position three-bet to 12,000. Moursy called and they saw a flop of 107J.

The early-position player bet 12,000 and Moursy called. Both players then checked the A turn.

The river was the 3 and the early-position player bet 30,000. Moursy then raised to 75,000 and his opponent called.

Moursy showed KQ for the nut straight and his opponent mucked AJ.

Moursy was also on the receiving end of the pot that gave Hassan Ali Nashar most of his chips. According to Moursy, he had JJ on a flop of 10KJ and got all the chips in the middle against Nashar, who had Q9 for a flopped straight. "600,000-chip pot," Moursy said.

Cuzzone again called and checked over to Gordo on the 4 river. Gordo checked back this time and Cuzzone showed KQ for top pair to win the pot.

The 9 fell on the turn and Guven bet 60,000. Stoica again called and the J came on the river. Guven then stuck in his last 15,000 and Stoica called.

Guven showed AA and Stoica mucked KQ as Guven took the pot to double up.

Heads-up on a board of 10QJ9, Ferhat Barut bet 31,000 from the cutoff and Konstantin Generalov called in the hijack.

The river was the K and Generalov moved all in. "I don't mean to slow roll you, but this is my first royal flush ever," Barut said as he took a few seconds before calling for his last 50,000.

Generalov showed JJ but it was no good against Barut's AK. "My first royal flush," Barut repeated as he leaned over the table to snap a photo of the board before raking in the pot.

A player in the cutoff called as action went to Joseph Nawar in early position, who moved all in for 122,000. Losev quickly folded and the cutoff also tossed JJ into the muck.
