Gavish Withstands Khabbazeh's Four-Bet

Simone Andrian raised to 40,000 in early position before Daniel Gavish three-bet to 125,000 in middle position. Basel Khabbazeh four-bet to 250,000 in the small blind, Andrian folded, and Gavish called.

The flop came J♠9♠8♦ and Khabbazeh continued for 100,000. Gavish called and both players checked the 2♣ turn.

The J♣ river was also checked through and Khabbazeh showed A♦K♦. Gavish turned over A♣9♣ for two pair as he took the pot.

Omer Erkus is sitting at a neighboring table with a stack of 2,400,000 and is in contention for the tournament lead.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 13th episode, Connor speaks with 888poker ambassador and Twitch streamer Ian Simpson, who talked about first learning poker as a kid, getting a degree in biotechnology and becoming a biology teacher, poker streaming and his breakout year of live poker in 2013 that saw him winning the Irish Poker Open for $339,604.

Simpson also discussed the importance of being a responsible poker ambassador and how science can change the world for the better.

Four players saw a flop of K♠4♦J♣ where Nerses Sargsian bet 35,000 from the hijack. Yossi Eluz folded in the cutoff, as did Mohamad El-Sayed in the small blind, but Vasyl Palandiuk moved all in for 180,000 in the big blind. Sargsian quickly called.

Venneri Doubles Through Halfa

Shalev Halfa raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and Antonino Venneri three-bet to 75,000 from the small blind. Halfa called to the J♦2♠8♦ flop.

Venneri led out for 65,000 and Halfa called. The dealer revealed the 2♣ turn and Venneri slowed down with a check.

Halfa fired a bet of 85,000 and was quickly met with a check-raise from Venneri to 350,000. After taking some time, Halfa slid out a call and the 5♥ river was turned over.

Venneri moved all in for 350,000 and Halfa took some more time. The clock was called and Halfa waited 20 more seconds before making the call.

Venneri showed K♣K♥ for two pair, clapping his hands as Halfa mucked.

Aslan Puts in a Big Shove; Khabbazeh Goes Runner-Runner on Brand

Kemal Aslan three-bet to 125,000 on the button and Gurcan Gungoren called in the big blind. Iraklis Manikaros then four-bet to 345,000 in middle position.

Aslan came back with an all-in shove for 920,000 and Gungoren quickly folded. Manikaros, though, tanked for several minutes before he joined Gungoren in the muck, allowing Aslan to take the pot without seeing a flop.

At the same time at another table, Basel Khabbazeh and Yoav Brand built a pot of around 800,000 going to the river on a board of K♥2♦6♦5♣4♠. Khabbazeh then moved all in for 450,000 in the big blind and Brand called in middle position.

Khabbazeh showed K♠3♠ for a rivered straight and Brand angrily tossed A♦K♦ into the muck before handing over the massive pot.

Asaf Groofi raised to 40,000 in early position and George Rabahie called in middle position. Nicolas Chouity then three-bet to 155,000 in the hijack and Marios Eracleous called all in from the big blind. Groofi also called, while Rabahie got out of the way.

The flop came 10♦10♥10♣ and Chouity continued for 90,000. Groofi called and both players checked the J♠ ]turn.

Groofi led out for 365,000 on the 8♦ river and Chouity snap-called. Groofi showed K♣K♦ for a full house, Chouity flashed Q♣Q♦, while Eracleous tossed 9♥4♥ into the muck before making his exit as Groofi scooped the entire pot.
