Over $9 Million Guaranteed at the 2025 Mediterranean Poker Party!

Level 21 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Mediterranean Poker Party
Mediterranean Poker Party

The Mediterranean Poker Party (MPP) returns to the Merit Royal Diamond Casino and Spa from May 3, bringing with it more than $9 million in guaranteed prize pools, including a monster-sized $5,300 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed MPP Main Event.

The 2025 edition of the MPP runs from May 3 through May 13 and wastes no time in exploding into action with the first of several seven-figure guaranteed events. Players will flock in droves to enter the $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em PokerOK Mystery Bounty event, which spans May 3-5.

While the Mystery Bounty edges toward crowning its champion, a $2,200 buy-in, $2,000,000 guaranteed NLHE Luxon Pay Grand Final shuffles up and deals. This tournament runs May 5-9 and should see a massive turnout. Last year, Bulgaria's Boris Kolev outlasted 1,564 opponents and banked an impressive $437,000, a prize second in size only to the first of Kolev's two World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet victories.

The biggest 2025 MPP tournament, at least in terms of prize money, is the $5,300 NLHE MPP Main Event and its $5 million guarantee. Other events include the $10,400 Onyx High Roller, which Jovan Kenjic won in 2024 for $365,000, the $1,100 EAPT Cyprus Main Event, the $1,100 NLHE 6-Max Turbo Bounty, and the $10,400 Onyx 6-Max High Roller.

Al-Kubasi Turns the Nuts and Doubles

Level 20 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Ali Al-Kubasi

Siarhei Chudapal limped in from early position before Ali Al-Kubasi raised to 400,000 from the button. When it got back to Chudapal, he called to see a flop.

The 8K6 flop checked through to see the 7 hit the turn. Chudapal checked, and Al-Kubasi bet 600,000. Chudapal quickly called.

Chudapal checked again on the 2 river and Al-Kubasi fired out a bet of 1,800,000 with 1,400,000 behind. Chudapal quickly jammed to put Al-Kubasi all in, and Al-Kubasi snap-called.

Ali Al-Kubasi: 109 All in
Siarhei Chudapal: K2

Al-Kubasi had turned the nuts with a straight and earned the full double-up against Chudapal's rivered two pair.

Big Slick Keeps Lakhov Alive

Level 20 : Blinds 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante
Alexandr Lakhov

Siarhei Chudapal made to 400,000 to go under the gun and Boris Kolev three-bet to 1,100,000 from the next seat. When it got to Alexandr Lakhov in the small blind, he four-bet to 4,000,000 with 580,000 behind. Chudapal folded, but Kolev shoved to put Lakhov all in. Lakhov called for his remaining chips.

Alexandr Lakhov: AK All in
Boris Kolev: QQ

If Kolev could win this hand with pocket queens, he would become one of the biggest stacks. The 2J4 flop kept Kolev's queens ahead. However, the A turn put Lakhov in pole position, having paired his ace. The 7 fell on the river and around a third of Kolev's chips were sent over to Lakhov.

At another table Chady Ojeil was unable to spin up his short stack, and has been eliminated.
