Bezhanyan Triples Up in Wild Hand

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Aren Bezhanyan

Somebody sound the monster pot siren!

Jalal Jafari opened to 80,000 from under the gun and Aren Bezhanyan three-bet to 230,000 on the button. Mohamed El-Wely cold-called from the small blind, and Jafari also called.

The flop came 592 and El-Wely decided to lead for 85,000. Jafari called before Bezhanyan shoved for 710,000. El-Wely wasted no time in calling, then Jafari back-raised all in for 1,575,000. El-Wely started counting out his stack and after putting in the 710,000, he realized he had around 1,000,000 behind. After thinking a bit longer, he elected to fold, despite the great odds he was getting.

Aren Bezhanyan: A5 All in
Jalal Jafari: A3

El-Wely was furious after seeing the cards turned on their backs and told his friend that he folded pocket eights. There was still a runout to come, but the 910 turn and river changed nothing as Jafari missed his combo draw, which meant Bezhanyan scooped a massive pot with his pair of fives.

"You have nothing!" shouted El-Wely to Jafari, who was visibly frustrated at why Jafari didn't just call on the flop. Regardless, what's done is done and Bezhanyan stormed back up the leaderboard with a stack of around 3,000,000.

Orman Chips Up as Chiboub Heads Home

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Leonid Orman
Leonid Orman

Leonid Orman opened the cutoff to 60,000 and Maciej Toma three-bet to 200,000 from the small blind. Abdelmajid Chiboub was in the big blind and put in his 55,000, and Orman called the three-bet.

On the KAJ flop, Toma bet 130,000, which Orman called to the J turn, where both checked.

A 2 fell on the river and both checked it down, with Toma showing K10 and Orman A9 to claim the main pot with a pair of aces. The side pot also went Orman's way as Chiboub showed 32 for just a pair of deuces.

Crespi Chip Leads

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Joan Crespi
Joan Crespi

Joan Crespi appears to be the chip leader with a stack of around 4,300,000. A portion of that came in a hand he just played with Abdou Antoun.

There were already around 800,000 in the middle on a board of J379 when Crespi shoved from under the gun, putting Antoun to the test for his stack of around 400,000. Eventually Antoun folded, and Crespi added to his massive stack.

Nashar Rakes a Small Pot

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Danielle Noja opened from early position to 60,000 and Hassan Nashar called in the next seat. Mohamed El-Wely also called from the big blind.

All three checked the 109K flop to the Q turn, where the action got to Nashar, who fired out 225,000. El-Wely and Noja both folded, and Nashar raked in some much-needed chips.

Moussa and Niste Hit the Rail

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Mihai Niste and Kirill Burtin

Bassel Moussa shoved his short stack from the small blind and was quickly looked up by Baltazar Five in the big blind.

Bassel Moussa: J10 All in
Baltazar Five: AJ

Moussa needed some help as he was dominated, but couldn't improve as the 462KQ runout meant he was eliminated.

Mihai Niste was seated at the same table and just moments after Moussa hit the rail, Niste followed suit.
