Niste Was Calling a Shove

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Hassan Nashar made it 21,000 to go from early position with Mihai Niste calling from the small blind. Yuxi Huang squeezed to roughly 125,000 from the big blind, which both Nashar and Niste called.

Niste and Huang checked the 7109 flop, and Nashar bet 75,000. Niste called, and Huang also stuck in the call.

Three checks followed the J turn to see the 5 appear on the river. Niste and Huang checked for the last time, and Nashar went into the tank. After thinking for a while, Nashar checked behind. Niste turned over 1010 for a flopped set of tens to win the pot.

Nashar asked Niste, "You call all-in on the river?", Nitse nodded his head to indicate yes.

Alalam Flips Out Papazian

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Bakhos Alalam opened from under the gun and Alexandru Papazian put in a three-bet from middle position off a stack of around 150,000. When it got back to Alalam, he shoved, and Papazian called off.

Alexandru Papazian: JJ All in
Bakhos Alalam: AQ

Papazian was ahead with his pair of jacks, but swiftly fell behind as the Q710 flop gave Alalam top pair. A little bit of help arrived on the turn for Papazian in the form of an 8, which gave him a gutshot, but the 5 river meant he was eliminated.

Geiger Wins a Multi-Way Pot

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Ravid Garbi opened from early position with Ivan Govorov calling in the cutoff, and Ohad Geiger defending the big blind.

After Geiger checked the 9K2 flop, Garbi continued with a bet of 15,000. Govorov called, but Geiger bumped it up to 65,000. Only Garbi stuck around with a call.

Heads-up to the J turn, where Geiger bet out for 125,000. Garbi mulled it over for some time before sliding his cards back to the dealer and relinquishing the pot to Geiger.

Kolotiuk's Flop Bet is Enough

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Roman Kolotiuk came in with a raise to 12,000 from early position only to be three-bet to 38,000 by Maroun Jazzar on the button. When it got back to Kolotiuk, he paused for a while before four-betting to 69,000. Jazzar slid in the call.

Kolotiuk put out a continuation-bet of 65,000 on the 5J7 flop. Jazzar didn't take long to lob his cards into the muck, and Kolotiuk pulled in the pot.

Aimukhanov's River Bet Goes Uncalled

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With around 125,000 in the middle on a K910 flop, Yesset Aimukhanov checked from the big blind and called a bet of 35,000 from Paris Dedes, who was on the button.

A 3 on the turn checked through to the 5 river, where Aimukhanov bet out 100,000. Dedes snap-folded, and Aimukhanov raked in the pot.

Lin Shouts for a Monkey

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ren Lin

Antoine Hasbani raised to 68,000 from early position with just 2,000 behind. The table folded all the way around to Ren Lin in the big blind, who peeled back one card and then started shouting, "Monkey! Monkey! Monkey!" as he began to squeeze out his second card. He must have picked up something close to a monkey as he made the call.

Ren put Hasbani all in dark before the 655 flop came down, and Hasbani called.

Antoine Hasbani: A9 All in
Ren Lin: AJ

Hasbani was in rough shape and needed a nine or the board to pair to stay in the tournament. The J turn gave Lin top pair, leaving Hasbani drawing dead. The 2 fell on the river, and Hasbani headed for the exit.
