The series at Merit Royal Diamond runs from August 9-21 and features a mix of Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold'em high-stakes tournaments, along with some juicy cash game action. PokerNews will be on-site, live reporting the six biggest events of the series, starting with the $10,400 GG Million$ from August 9-12.
There are 12 high-stakes tournaments, with buy-ins ranging from $10,400 to $102,000, all taking place inside a luxurious resort along the Mediterranean Sea.
Zoja Fleischer and Daniil Kiselev just got all of their chips into the middle preflop, with Fleischer being the one at risk.
Zoja Fleischer: Q♠Q♣
Daniil Kiselev: A♦K♦
Fleischer needed her Ladies to hold up against the Big Slick of Kiselev, or she would be out of the tournament.
The 8♣5♠J♥ kept Fleischer in the lead, although the 10♣ turn offered Kiselev a few extra outs. Kiselev found one of his outs on the K♥ river as he improved to a pair of kings, which meant he dragged the pot as Fleischer headed to the exit.
Eleftherios Sinnos shoved his stack of 265,000 in from the hijack and Xiaosheng Zheng made a quick call from the big blind.
Eleftherios Sinnos: A♠K♥
Xiaosheng Zheng: 8♠8♥
Sinnos needed to win a flip, but didn't manage to do so as the Q♦J♣6♠9♠J♦ runout kept the pocket eights of Zheng in the lead.
Alexander Sokolovsky raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and Dmitry Vitkind jammed for 165,000 from the button. After the blinds folded, Sokolovsky called.
Dmitry Vitkind: A♣10♥
Alexander Sokolovsky: A♠Q♣
Sokolovsky had Vitkind dominated, as the two players saw the A♦2♦5♣ come down. The K♥ turn and 6♣ river didn't help Vitkind, and Sokolovsky won the pot holding the higher kicker.
Maher Achour opened from middle position to 40,000 and Vladimir Erceg three-bet to 100,000 on the button. Mehmet Demirkol then four-bet to 245,000 out of the big blind, which got Achour to quickly folded. Erceg, however, called.
On the J♥7♦5♣ flop, Demirkol continued for 80,000, which Erceg called to see the 7♠ fall on the turn. Both checked, as they did on the 6♠ river, and Erceg showed Q♠Q♦ for a pair of queens to claim the pot.
Aleksandr Chernikov is on the same table and has built a stack of around 3,000,000 as the newly-planned dinner break edges closer.

The odds of hitting a Royal Flush in poker are 1 in 649,740. Well, that just happened over on Table #2!
Vladimir Erceg opened the action with a raise to 45,000 from early position, and only Erdal Gulseven called from the big blind.
Upon seeing the A♦Q♦9♣ flop come down, Gulseven jammed his last 100,000 into the middle. Erceg quickly made the call and the cards were tabled.
Erdal Gulseven: K♦J♦
Vladimir Erceg: A♥A♠
Erceg had the nuts with top set of aces, but Gulseven had a Royal Flush draw with two cards to come.
The board-pairing 9♦ turn improved both players, but Erceg's full house was way out in front. Only the incredibly unlikely ten of diamonds on the river could save Gulseven.
Gulseven was already out of his seat and preparing to leave before the river card was even dealt. This tactic seemed to work, as the 10♦ peeled off on the river to give him the best hand in poker, a Royal Flush. The whole table erupted in amazement at seeing the runout, and even Erceg, who had suffered the brutal bad beat, was all smiles.
After the players took some photographs, Gulseven sat back down, and the pot of around 350,000 was sent to him.
