Mokhtari Turns a Ten

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Christoforos Chrysochoidis is still going along nicely, but did just lose some chips to his table neighbor Tommy Mokhtari.

Chrysochoidis opened under the gun to 4,000 and Mokhtari defended his big blind.

Mokhtari check-called a bet of 3,500 on the 4K9 flop and then it checked to showdown on the 102 runout. Mokhtari showed a pair of tens with J10, and that was enough to win the pot,

Zaharagi Gets Value From Zavoloka

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

There was a limp from under the gun before Maor Zaharagi made it 7,000 in the hijack. Mikhail Zavoloka called from the cutoff, and the limper also called.

They went to a flop of J47, where Zaharagi bet 9,000 when it got to him. Both of his opponents called to the 8 turn, where they all checked.

When the 10 completed the board on the river, the limper checked and Zaharagi bet 22,000. Zavoloka quickly called, and the limper folded.

Zaharagi then showed he rivered a straight with Q9, and that was enough to win the pot.

Mikhail Zavoloka opened from under the gun and got called by Sergey Kudryavtsev in the cutoff and Maor Zaharagi in the big blind.

On the 893 flop, it checked to Zavoloka, who bet 4,000. Both Kudryavtsev and Zaharagi called to the 6 turn. When the action was checked to Kudryavtsev, he bet 25,000, and that earned him the pot.

At the same time, Paul Grummitt was just eliminated on his table.

After thirteen days of poker under the Mediterranean sun, the 2025 Merit Poker Dolce Vita Series crowned its final champion. Nicolas Chouity conquered a record-setting 1,023-entry field in the $3,300 La Notte Degli Assi, claiming the title, the trophy, and a career-boosting $460,000 payday inside the luxurious Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino.

The event generated a massive $2,823,480 prize pool, making it the largest Merit Poker tournament of 2025 in terms of both field size and prize pool.

Chouity began the final table as chip leader and never looked back, navigating a stacked lineup with experience, composure, and a little bit of luck. In the end, he overcame Hungary’s Richard Broda in a tough and tactical heads-up battle, marking a powerful return to the spotlight for one of Lebanon’s most accomplished players.
