Ercan Gets Punished For Making the Right Call
Level 6
: Blinds 800/1,500, 1,500 ante
There was a raise from the cutoff, with Nikolay Fal calling from the small blind and Mustafa Ercan defending from the big blind.
Action checked to the cutoff on the A♦4♦4♣ flop, who continued for around 4,000. Only Ercan called.
Ercan checked again on the 8♥ turn, and his opponent moved all in, putting Ercan at risk for his remaining 30,000 or so. Ercan quickly called.
Mustafa Ercan: A♣2♣
Cutoff: 7♦6♦
Ercan made the call with top pair and just had to dodge his opponent's outs on the river.
Instead, the 8♦ rolled off to complete the cutoff player's flush, making Ercan the newest casualty of the Merit Poker Cup.
