Kirichenko Can't Beat Top Pair
Level 16
: Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Aleksandr Kirichenko raised under the gun to 30,000, and only the player in the big blind called.
The action checked to Kirichenko on the Q♥2♣9♥ flop, and he bet 20,000, which his opponent called.
A board-pairing 9♦ joined the turn, and the big blind opted to lead out for 32,000. Kirichenko thought momentarily before matching the bet.
A 3♣ rolled off on the river, causing both players to check. The big blind turned over Q♠7♠ for top pair, and it was enough to win the pot.
