A Platinum Pass on the Line; Who Will Win Moneymaker's Road to PSPC 2020 Dublin?

Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Just 196 players remain in Moneymaker's Road to PSPC 2020 Dublin after the final two flights yesterday, and all of them are still in with a chance of taking home the coveted Platinum Pass.

One player through to the final day is Chris Moneymaker himself who, despite bagging a short stack in Day 1a, played both flights yesterday in an attempt to make it through to Day 2. He did exactly that, bagging 216,000.

There are joint chip leaders from Day 1a and Day 1b, with Drew Dwyer and Thomas Gallagher both bagging exactly 405,000. Behind them comes Colum Higgins (396,000), Colin Fox (389,000), Darren Carroll (333,000), and Gary Stokes (314,000) who all bagged in excess of 300,000.

Other notables still in the field include Paul Leckey (225,000), who bubbled the PSPC earlier this year, Bob Tait (193,000), Padraig Parkinson (170,000), Dara O'Kearney (160,000), Andy Black (127,000) and Ambrose Travers (125,000).

Today is the final day of play here at the Bonnington Hotel Dublin, so the schedule of the day is to play down to a winner. You can catch all the action live here on PokerNews or on the PokerStars Twitch or YouTube

Chris Martin
Chris Martin

2019 Platinum Pass winner Christian Martin started the day with 51,000 but tripled up first hand. However, after losing with two pair against bottom straight he then lost a 250k flip with kings versus ace king to bust early on Day 2.

"It was brutal," said Martin. "I had king-jack against ace-king and ace-queen to triple up in the very first hand. But I can go back to bed now!"

Andy Black

Andy Black opened and Victor Antoci raised to 41,000 on the button. Black four-bet all in for 207,000 and Antoci tank-called.

With hands at all other tables finished, Black showed {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and was racing against Antoci's {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}. Black didn't seem confident, getting to his feet, assembling his things, putting his jacket on and slinging his bag over his shoulder.

The board came {k-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Black headed for the exit, the remaining 103 players all in the money.
