Barbosa Doubles and Hernandez Busts

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Raul Hernandez raised to 18,000 from early position only to have Juan Pablo Barbosa three-bet all in for 81,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Hernandez and he gave it some thought before making the call.

Juan Pablo Barbosa: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Raul Hernandez: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

Barbosa had the superior ace and he shipped the double after the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Hernandez was left with 60,000 after the hand but went bust in 36th place a short time later.

Baumstein Doubles Through Duvdivani

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In the last hand of Level 17 that spilled over into the new level, there was around 200,000 in the pot and a board reading {3-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} when Josh Duvdivani checked and Scott Baumstein moved all in for 102,000.

Duvdivani thought for a couple of minutes before dropping in a call and Baumstein tabled the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. That was just enough to beat Duvdivani's {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Ship the double to Baumstein.

Moneymaker Lays Down Aces?

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Chris Moneymaker
Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker raised to 15,000 from the hijack and Wanlop Phonphornwithoon called from the cutoff. The button and blinds all folded and it was heads-up action to the {7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop.

Moneymaker continued for 13,000 and Phonphornwithoon called to see the {2-Clubs} turn.

Moneymaker bet again, this time 27,000, and Phonphornwithoon raised it to a hefty 110,000.

"Ah, you're going to crack my aces and do this to me?" Moneymaker asked aloud. "King-queen? Deuces? I don't think you're ever bluffing for 110."

Eventually, Moneymaker folded his cards face down and Phonphornwithoon was pushed the pot. After the hand, Phonphornwithoon told Moneymaker two words: "King-queen."

Levy Straightened Out in 40th Place

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Action exploded after the turn on a board reading {10-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades} that resulted in Eliyahu Levy getting his last 88,000 all in against Greg Spinder.

Eliyahu Levy: {10-Spades}{5-Spades}
Greg Spinder: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Levy had flopped trip tens but he needed to fill up as Spinder had turned Broadway. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {9-Clubs} on the river. Levy missed and headed for the payout desk in 40th place to collect $695.

Levy Shoves the Flop

Level 16 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Eliyahu Levy opened for 12,000 from the hijack and Juan Pablo Barbosa defended the big blind to see a {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop.

Barbosa checked and Levy wasted little time in moving all in for around 80,000.

That did the trick as Barbosa quickly folded.
