November Niner in Action

November Niner Matthew Jarvis, who ultimately finished in 8th in the WSOP Main Event, is in action today although he has been relatively quiet. In a recent hand, a player in middle position raised to 1,700 and Jarvis reraised to 5,625 in the cutoff. The reraise was enough to take down the pot and the November Niner is up to 39,000.

Affleck Takes One Down

Matt Affleck
Matt Affleck

A player in middle position raised to 1,500 and action folded to Matt Affleck in the small blind. He called the raise as did the player in the big blind and three players saw the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop.

It checked around to the {2-Spades} on the turn and Affleck bet out 3,000. The big blind called while the middle position player got out of the way. Affleck then bet 6,000 after the dealer burned and put the {5-Spades} on the river. The big blind didn't take long to fold and Affleck took down the pot. He is up to 26,000.

Pocket Rockets for Sands

David Sands
David Sands

David "Doc" Sands was under the gun and raised to 1,350. Action folded to the player in the cutoff and he put in a raise to 4,200. Sands gathered the rest of his chips and pushed them forward, amounting to a raise of 15,175 more. The cutoff made the call and the cards were turned up:

Cutoff: {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}
Sands: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

Sands was firmly in the lead with his pocket rockets and the {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop kept him there. The {2-Spades} turn and {J-Hearts} river changed nothing and Sands doubled to around 40,000.

Cheong Drops the Rest

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Our last check on November Niner Joseph Cheong had him down around 10,000 chips, but it appears he's a bit worse off than that now. Cheong's chair is empty, his chips are missing, and he is presumed busto.

Team Pros Duke It Out

With about 10,000 in the middle and a board reading {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Chris Moneymaker checked to Richard Toth who quickly bet 3,525. Moneymaker tossed in a single 5,000 blue chip to make the call and Toth instantly mucked his cards. Moneymaker did not show his own hand as he raked in the pot and increased his stack to around 50,000. Toth is down to 15,000.
